Food from previous guest found under the bed

Very disappointing - food from previous guest was found under the bed and room maintenance poor. Cons: 1.) We were on a package with Rocky Mountaineer and arrived by coach full of fellow travellers - t...here was a second large coach of people arriving at the same time. The check-in desk had only 2 people to look after so many people. 2.) There was a half eaten croissant found under the bed. 3.) The electrical socket and USB port by bedside table not working. 4.) The reading light on the bed not working. Pros: 1.) The concierge desk was friendly. 2.) The bell hops were friendly As this is supposed to be high end hotel, it was shocking to find food from a previous guest in the room.
Fairmont Gold is well worth its weight in gold

We worked with the Fairmont Gold team to allow us to upgrade our pre cruise hotel stay to the Fairmont Gold level. And what a treat! From the moment we checked in on the 9th floor we were provided with sup...erlative service and accommodations. No challenge too great seems to describe the team of supervisors, all of whom created this experience. Our room was large, well furnished, and located. Outside two of our windows you could see a statue of Pan playing his flute. Inside the room were a sofa, desk, coffee table, armoire and two large TV’s, one for each room. When the thermostat kept the room too cold, a technician took care of the problem immediately. Another brought a toilet riser. But the food services were the standouts in both quality and variety. In addition to a magnificent breakfast spread, guests were treated to tea, evening canapés, and desserts. When we inquired where to purchase hand sanitizer and face mask, one of the supervisors provides us with replacements. I highly recommend the Fairmont Gold.
