WestJet Boeing MAX 8 aircraft flying over Canadian prairies

WestJet is charting an exciting path, with a new growth strategy focused on owning the west by providing improved east-west domestic connectivity and enhanced low-cost leisure travel options from coast-to-coast. We’re proud to give Canadians a variety of comfortable and affordable travel options to their favourite destinations, while operating sustainably and efficiently.

Growth strategy

Our fleet is constantly evolving and expanding to further bolster our strategy of affordably increasing Canada’s connectivity from coast-to-coast, while growing our position as the country’s leading leisure provider.

Sustainable

With an average age under 10 years, our fleet is among the youngest of established North American carriers. With the Boeing 737 MAX family as the foundation for our expanding fleet, lower fuel consumption will help to minimize emissions.

Cost-efficient

WestJet’s fleet is structured with cost reduction in mind, operating fuel-efficient Boeing aircraft, with the most efficient being the Boeing 737 MAX, which operates using 13 per cent less fuel than its predecessor model. As the WestJet Group fleet continues to grow in line with its low-cost model, further emphasis will be placed on operating with the most cost-efficient aircraft.
