Partner airlines

Codeshare allow multiple airlines to sell space on the same flight as if it were their flight. The airline selling seats is referred to as the marketing carrier; the airline providing the aircraft, crew and ground-handling support is referred to as the operating carrier.  

When booking your reservation, you can identify if any portion of your flight will be operated by a partner airline. The "Operated by:" section below your WestJet flight number will indicate the partner operating applicable legs of travel.   

Yes, you will earn WestJet dollars and qualifying spend towards tier status as long as WestJet is the marketing carrier.  You can easily spot the marketing carrier for your flights by looking at the flight numbers listed on your itinerary.  If they start with WS, then WestJet is the marketing carrier.  

While you will earn as usual, most top-tier or cardholder benefits are limited for use only when your itinerary is wholly marketed and operated by WestJet. Visit westjet.com/silver, westjet.com/gold or westjet.com/platinum or westjet.com/worldelite for more details on your individual benefits.
