Great family vacation

My family of seven stayed in the Italian beachfront two bedroom walkout Butler suite. Bruce and Vadeline were our butlers. They were absolutely amazing! They arranged for a special anniversary dinner for my wife and I and managed to get reservations for us at Sky on two separate nights as well as Kimonos for two nights. Those were my sons’ favorite restaurants. A special shout out to Chantel, our server at Sky, for providing exceptional service. The afternoon and nightly snacks they delivered to our room were delicious. They reserved a cabana at the Caribbean pool for us every day. We chose that pool because it was the only one that did not feel like bathwater when we visited. We stayed in the Italian Village and anticipated spending most of our time in the Italian Pool but the cloudy water made me question its sanitary safeness. There were a ton of children and lots of people having fun, but I did not see many of them get out of the pool very often to use the restroom. The Caribbean pool was also close to the Iguanas pool where my 12-year-old liked to play pool volleyball and water polo. Two of my family members got their Open Water certification to dive while we visited. Two of us were already certified. Johnny and Jere at the dive shop made this trip extremely memorable for my entire family of 7. I can’t thank them enough for how they went above and beyond to make this trip special for all 7 of us. We saw multiple stingrays, sharks, barracudas, lobsters, and vast array of different tropical fish. The diving was truly spectacular. Geiko did an incredible job with the family photos he had taken of us. He spent a lot of time with us and was extremely accommodating to my wife’s request. She was so happy with the photo shoot, we ended up buying all 221 pictures. The only reason I didn’t give this a five star review was because our first Beaches trip was at Ocho Rios where the overall food quality and overall service from the staff was better. It could be a supply issue and maybe I shouldn’t compare the two resorts but if we didn’t have Butler service in Turks, I don’t know if we would have had a comparable experience. We didn’t have Butler service in Ocho Rios and didn’t feel we needed it there.
Bliss in a Caribbean King Walk-Out Room

We went to Beaches T&C 10 years ago, and I was nervous about returning (now our boys are 18 and 14), with some of the reviews. We went with 2 other families and their teenagers from the neighborhood, and we all had an absolute BLAST! We had a lot of adult time, and our kids enjoyed their time together (and night time at Liquid) as well. Arrival- We paid for Fast Track b/c we arrived on a Saturday and were seated on the back of the plane. For my impatient family, it was worth it. We were hustled through immigration, security, and were checked into the resort within 30 minutes of our arrival. I was SO HAPPY that we didn't have to wait until 3 or 4:00 to check-in. Our friends on the same flight arrived about 20 minutes after us (they didn't use Fast Track), but, they paid for more expensive seats toward the front of the airplane. Staff- I saw more rude guests than rude staff members. The hotel was at 100% capacity (4th of July week). Yes, sometimes we had to wait an hour to get seated for dinner. If you plan ahead, you can handle it. We heard of a family that was originally supposed to go to Beaches Jamaica, and they were transferred to T&C because of Hurricane Beryl. So they really tried to accommodate these inconvenienced guests. Special Shout-out to the Caribbean Front Desk Manager, Sharon. She really impressed me. She sought guests out who were waiting in line, and asked them what they were in need of. She always had a smile on her face, professional demeanor and was looking to anticipate or address any needs. Food- I thought the food options had IMPROVED since a decade ago. No, it's not a 5-Star experience, but, they didn't have the food trucks the last time I went. I enjoyed trying a couple different types of flavors from the mac and cheese truck, and it was great way to have something small so that you wouldn't get hangry if you knew you'd be waiting on dinner. Helpful Hints: If you tend to get overheated, bring a NECK FAN. You might look goofy sitting there with one on, but, the outdoor restaurants are HOT and the fans don't blow too much air around. There were multiple guests wearing them. If you have elderly travelers that are hard of hearing, go to Sapodilla's, Barefoot, Neptunes or Sky for your meals. Although I really enjoyed Schooner's and Le Petit, the music there was very LOUD, and it was hard to have a conversation. Kimono's and Bobby Dee's are also very loud. Best lunch buffet = Arizona's. I loved their gyro and taco bar, and the fresh grilled chicken and steak. Get your meat sweat on! Bring your own Yeti's and a BOGG BAG to the beach. Get a plastic table/tray insert for it. That way you can place it between 2 beach chairs and have your own private table to set your drinks on. Sand in your Bogg Bag = no problem. Just rinse it out. Spend your time at the beach and in that beautiful ocean. You can go to a pool anywhere. Bring blow-up lounge chairs. Everyone brought their own floats. Pools here are definitely cloudy/sketchy. Too many kids and too much sunscreen. Key West main pool was the cleanest/clearest. Repeat- You're going there for the Ocean. Bring a couple of cheap white T-shirts so that you can participate in the free tie-dying. That was really cool! They had about 6 different patterns you could choose from, and it was very well-organized. They offer these sessions several times throughout the week. So don't panic if you miss it on your first day. Attitude is everything- If you see a staff member that looks tired or cranky, just let it go. Don't take it personally. It is hot as heck there, and they are dealing with a lot of guests. They work very long days. You don't need to have a Butler to feel special. This resort is expensive, but, they are paying $15 for a dozen eggs and gas is over $7.00/gallon. Everything needs to be imported. If you have a special celebration, they will recognize it. We celebrated our Wedding Anniversary, and were surprised with a bottle of champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries and a bed decorated with flower petals and a towel folded into a swan. When we called the front desk to request a bottle of wine or extra washcloths, they were delivered to our room within 15 minutes. Another day, I was carrying dirty dishes (from our front porch), and a staff member on a bike offered to take them off my hands. The staff was pretty darn responsive to our needs. Departure- We flew home on a Friday. That was a HUGE improvement compared to when we flew home from our last trip (on a Saturday) a decade ago. We did not do Fast Pass on our return, and, it wasn't needed. We got through all of the lines pretty quickly. Although we loved our trip, we probably won't go back. There are so many other places that we'd like to explore. If they had a Beaches in Costa Rica or Greece, I'd be on board with that!
