Loved the resort and staff! Ana at the pool was amazing. Food was decent but wish it was better. The drinks in the lobby bar are the best. Portofino for dinner was delicious!
A blissful week with just one hiccup

Another wonderful stay at Secrets. We are very seasoned travelers with the chain (2x at Maroma, 6x at The Vine, 1x at Moxche, 1x at Akumal, and visiting Secrets Playa Blanca later this year) as well as with other properties along Riviera Maya (2x at Único 2087 and 3x at Live Aqua). Secrets Maroma has the best beach of all Secrets Resorts we been to. Accommodations, lobby and restaurants were vastly refreshed since our last visit and we loved our room at the top floor of building 15. The food was overall very good particularly at breakfast (warm mentions to the hard working Ema and Guillermina who battle the heat outside to prepare delicious Mexican specialities for breakfast). Warm regards to Manuel, a trainee from Spain who went above and beyond in making time out of his personal time off to play tennis with me. Our only hiccup was with the amount we were charged at the hotel NOT matching the amount confirmed by Hyatt upon making the reservation. Although we had a confirmation email stating the exact amount in US Dollars, the hotel charged an amount in MX Pesos that rendered a $94 difference in the price conveniently in the hotel’s favor. The hotel was unwilling to honor the price stated on the confirmation of the reservation and did not refund the $94 overcharge. No “exchange rate” difference should render close to US$100 extra. We also think that Secrets, in general, should do better at accommodating and surprising repeat guests like us who are faithful to the chain when there are indeed endless options in Mexico (the same names and email addresses are using on every reservation).
