This was my second visit to Sandals Negril and I must say it was a superb experience, especially Skyye and Oniquekio from the entertainment team! I was here last April and I will be here next April! I’ve made last friendships and I am excited about the future!

We stayed Saturday - Saturday, the storm hit us Wed night, these comments are specific just to our days before the storm as I can't blame the resort for the weather and I applaud their efforts during those crazy couple days. Last year we stayed at the new Dunns River which we loved a lot, so I find myself comparing the two. Overall Dunns River was a better experience, but I will say I liked the Negril beach and it's calmer water better. We could stand up paddle everyday in Negril, I think Dunns River only one day was calm enough to do that. A couple rock star employees, John at the beach, and Deandre (spell?) at the Brava restaurant were silver linings that made us smile and relay. Brava was the best food by far, loved it! Hit the beach in the mornings, 7am-11am was paradise, nice and calm and quiet. Pro tip: take the Timair small plane from Montego Bay to Sandals Negril, like $350 totally worth it to not have to make that painful drive. Didn't like: *the construction going on above us for two days in the new bamboo grove buildling, so loud and upsetting to have to deal with that, we thought the building was done. *lawn maintenance, back home I have to list to all my neighbors mow and use loud leaf blowers, I do not want to hear that when i'm trying to relax on the beach. there's a thing called a broom that works just fine and is quiet. i was mad for the couple getting married on the beach which someone going down the sidewalks with a leaf blower, so rude. in my dream world leaf blowers do not exist anywhere! *no beach service for drinks, Dunns River did, Negril did not. first world problems i know, but one place exceeded expectations, one did not. *overall staff: 10% rockstars i'd hire for my business, 70% doing their job..not super, not bad, just ok, 20% truly do not want to be there and I had read that in other reviews, that is on management. I literally avoided a couple places on the resort because of the angry look on the faces of some staff. *Check in/Check out, is literally just off the road, so loud, checking out with a shuttle van running it's engine just outside the entrance we were shouting out each other to try and hear *We have a couple serious food allergies, Dunns River exceeded out expectations and a chef at each place came to our table to make sure he could make something safe for us. Negril did not, it was more like "I think you can have that." Not good. Food and drinks overall really subpar, even just a coke felt watered down. Overall, I wish them well and the only major hard feelings I still have was the construction noise over our head for 6 hours/two days with no communication, apology, or empathy. Dunns River is a step above in most areas, but i'll give Negril the award for a better beach.
