Too many cats...Horrible time

First let me start by saying the resort is absolutely amazing! However the grounds need to be kept more on not having cats!! Or if the cats are going to be allowed and let roam the premises then it should be made aware to the guests ahead of booking. I have a phobia and fear of cats and my stay this past week was not a fun and relaxing one with 7 cats roaming daily whether day or evening. On the Sunday celebration of Independence day it was just horrific with all the cats everywhere you turned. Perhaps due to the food kiosks. Additionally, one transporter in the evening time in specific a bald headed gentlemen (did not get his name)was very awful when I was riding the trolly to the lobby area. My sister had informed him of my fear of cats and he pulls over to a cat nearby jokingly. Who does that!!!! Needless to say if you do not like cats stay clear of this place!
The best holiday ever!

This is our second visit to Ocean Riviera Paradise. The first time in April and the second in September 2024. The best thing about this hotel and there are a lot of great things is the staff. In April we met Mouasis (sorry probably sept wrong, the manager in the privilege lounge) and Rosa who was tending to the privilege at the beach but in September now a butler. Well, I know 6 months isn’t a long time but for them to remember us was amazing! They are two of the most amazing staff members. But we met a lot more this time Alexis, Juan and Carlos at the privilege along with everyone else there just can’t remember all of their names. What a welcoming, lovely place to eat and spend your time nothing was too much to ask they all go above and beyond. So well done Mouasis and team in the privilege lounge and thank you for making our holiday with our family outstanding!! On the privileged beach, we spoke to Micheal( I think that was his name) what a great person so friendly and helpful! At Route 66 my sons had a fantastic conversation with a waiter ( they forgot his name) about the Mayan language and Spanish. Thank you as they loved the conversation and learning about the Mayan language. The housekeepers were fantastic and deep cleaned our room when there was a mosquito in it so thankfully no bites after that. The privileged in-room drinks were restocked every day by lovely people happy to help with our requirements! The privilege check-in team are friendly, and helpful and informed us of all the information we need for our holiday! Angel checked us in and was so friendly. Manu Was our butler and he was so helpful and friendly and anything we needed was arranged quickly. He always had a smile on his face whenever we met him even if just out and about in the hotel. He always stopped to ask how we were, how our day was going and if we needed anything. So thank you, Manu! The ladies in Mike's coffee shop always remembered our drink order when we arrived. The coffee and cakes were lovely too! In every restaurant, the servers were fantastic sorry to not mention everyone individually but everyone was amazing! So the best thing about the hotel is the staff you are all amazing and thank from me and my family for our holiday the best holiday so far. About the hotel itself: we stayed in the privilege with a swim-up room this time. The pools are cleaned every day as up early to see the pool boys do this, thank you, probably a job that doesn’t get a lot of thanks. We had a good chat and laugh with the ones we met! The room we stayed in was 3129 we had the sun early in the morning but the pool was opposite too. The bartenders would come to our pool and ask if we would like a drink which was fantastic so we didn’t have to get out of the pool. They also were a friend and nothing was too much trouble for them. So thank you, everyone! The food at all of the restaurants was amazing no one in our party had a bad meal and we ate everywhere. If we required something different or 2 steaks they were happy to assist. Best food ever. We didn’t go to the buffet much though as we had so many choices with the a la carte restaurant. The best bit about privilege is the butler can book the a la carte restaurants or you can book on the app but at any time of day unlike if you are not privileged you have to book by 8 in the morning this was a massive plus for us. The room service again was free 24 hours for privilege and the people who brought the food were so nice, helpful and friendly. So thank you, team! Being privileged you can have to shelf drinks which was a bonus. But some things still cost my son like Hennessy which still cost but he could get Courvoisier for free which is strange but was fine for the rest of us. There is a large selection of cocktails to choose from in the app but most bars can make whatever cocktail you like. In April I had a massage in the spa it was £140 for 1 1/2 hours with 3 treatments which I thought was good as a deal but I’m sure you could haggle a price. You can get a massage for less at the beach with people asking all the time if you would like to. But it faces the sea there are 2-3 rows of beds next to each other so wasn’t really for me but maybe Better for others and definitely cheaper. We walked down to the jetty/pier along the beach and it was a lovely view there is a little shop on the beach too but didn’t go in. The evening entertainment was good in the theatre some more so than others for our age range but always something to do at night. When we were there it was Mexican Independence Day and there was a massive party with things going on all day we loved it, fantastic we got to celebrate and learn more about the Mexican culture! Whilst we were there we only went on 1 excursion as it was so hot. We wanted to go to a Mayan temple and explore but it was too hot for us!! But we went to Xsence and what a fantastic day we had. There were a lot of illusion art pieces and photo ops to be had. We could use our camera/ phone but we paid 200 Pessoa for as many downloadable photos as we wanted. It was so much fun and we loved the zip line, the mudslide, the water slide and all the interactive points. The food in the cafe was amazing we were not expecting much but it was so good! So all in all one of the best holidays we’ve been on. Some people may say about the repairs that need doing to the hotel but when we were there they were completely renovating rooms which didn’t impact us but nice to know they are doing this. Not that there was anything wrong with our rooms but with the general wear and tear guests create during a year it must be hard to keep up. The worst thing is the moisture in the air, keep your air-con on all day and night and get a humidifier if there isn’t one in the room as this can cause a lot of damage to the rooms also. So one of the best holidays we’ve all had and very sad to be leaving. We usually only like to visit a country once but with Mexico and Ocean Riviera paradise we did twice and could easily come back again! Thank you to everyone at Ocean Riviera Paradise we have fantastic memories of our holiday and the people we met which we will treasure forever!
