Secrets Maroma, Riviera Maya. Don't think twice.

My wife and I travelled to Secret Maroma in early November, 2024 for 4 nights. We were hesitant about an "all-inclusive" as it was an unkown to us. This was our first foray into a Mexican package holiday so we decided to spend extra for a 5 star resort. Secrets Maroma far exceeded any expectation we had. Everything about this resort is worthy of praise and we could not have been happier. Our suite: we chose a ground floor "swim up" room as they are all on the ground floor. Each building have swim up rooms on the ground floor as there are pools in front of each building. The pools do not connect to the main pools and nor the other building's pools. They are relatively private with only your neighbors visible. We were in building 26 on the ground floor which is about 100 feet or so from the beach. If you'd like to spend extra and have the absolute luxury of having a swim up room in from of the beach then you need to book building 27 or building 17 that are ocean front. They looked stunning! Building Concierge: Each building has it's own concierge on the ground floor and they are absolutely worth their weight in gold. Our concierge at building 26 was Roger Arroyo and he was amazing. Every aspect of our stay was attended to by Roger and he was well known as a mentor among other concierges due to his 16 years of experience. Wonderful man. The Preferred Club: Yes, this is worth the extra. It gives you access to the Preffered Club restaurant (our breakfast restaurant each day), a private section of the main beach and daily access to the hydrotherapy section of their amazing spa (which we used everyday!). At time of check in you are given the Hyatt membership speech and offered discount and free cabana access to sit through their 90 minute lecture. We declined this offer and are glad we did as the discounts offered were a small percentage off already expensive spa offerings and cabana's are something that you don't really need. Bars & Restaurants: There are about 20 of these all over the resort. There's even a 24 hour cafe. Food and drink are in incredible abundance where ever you look. Some are open for lunch and dinner and some, like the Japanese restaurant Himitsu and French restaurant Bordeaux, are only open for dinner. Himitsu was our favorite. If you want to experience Teppanyaki Table inside Himitsu you'll need to book through the building concierge or on the Hyatt app called "Inclusive Collection" once you've checked in. To tip or not to tip? Yes, it's all inclusive but we tipped everywhere we went as we were so impressed with everyone we met. The staff are all incredibly helpful and kind that it's hard not to. It doesn't have to be much but we felt like we wanted to. They certainly deserved it. The Beach: Their is a seaweed called Sargassum that washes up on the beach and is in the water. We'd heard about it but I couldn't see any evidence of it. This is due to the fact that the staff painstakingly rake the beach and clear the water of the weed before a single sole steps foot on the beach each morning. The pictures you see of turquoise blue water are not an exaggeration. It's stunning. The water is like a bath and appears incredibly clean and clear. Should you visit? Absolutely. It's an amazing place and you'll love it. We purchased our package through Costco which included a shop card and a discount for the credit card we used. I wouldn't hesitate to book this again.

One of the most amazing beaches I've ever been on (and I grew up in Hawaii). Entertainment was awesome. Really engaged the guests. Particularly enjoyed the pool basketball and volleyball. Service was so so good! We'd have drinks in our hands and we'd have staff coming up to us asking if we wanted more.
