Paradisus Varadero Royal service/Royal section

We visited Paradisus Varadero (PV) 6 times, last time December 2024. We stayed in the Royal service/Royal section, but previously also stayed in the Reserve/Family and General site and know PV very well. Royal service/Royal section (RS) is a paradise island within PV: you treated as Royal every second, service is really Royal. You could lie down next to the RS pool and you would be served proactively according your habits with continuous flow whatever you prefer (thank you George). You would be surrounded by beautiful palms, ocean breeze and you would feel completely relaxed and peaceful. During lunch you will sit on the porch of the restaurants and observe beauty of the oceans and will be surrounded by beautiful nature. Again service would be excellent. Selection of the food is great, including lobster almost every day. High end Chilean and Spanish wines, real cava (not substitute), high end liquor (Chivas Regal 12 years old, Jonny Walker, sometimes even blue and black label and of course, probably the best Cuban rom – Havana Club Seleccion de Maestro (duty free in Cuba – 60 US dollars, LCBO -85 Canadian dollars). Hollandia beer in your room fridge every day. You will stay in the 2 floors building with large room, large balcony, outdoor shower in the each room and large bathroom with two amenities, including Jacuzzi. If you prefer beach and ocean swimming you have to walk for 3 minutes or takes golf like cart and will be delivered directly to the beach. The beach is a “jewel”, it is sandy, long, very deep and wide, have many palm trees (there is probably one of the best beaches in the entire Varadero). You will find whatever you want - natural shadow or a lot of open space for sunbath. Ocean is shallow and clean, sandy bottom, usually calmer than in adjacent resort (due to the cove shape) and it could fit anybody: from kids to swimming lovers. SUNSET!!! Excellent snorkeling. During this time of the year we have never ever had any problems with mosquitos or any health problems. If you need more excitement, party like environment, wants to see professional shows etc you could go the main site lobby. We did not have any problems with electricity and water. If you are planning first time to visit Cuba: Cuba is the safest Caribbean country. If you are beach lovers - they have one of the best beaches. Cuban live music, cigars and Cuban rum, nice climate (often more dry and less hot (especially Varadero area) that in other Caribbean countries) and one of the best beaches create very specific Cuban aura, which urge us come again and again to Cuba. If you choose resort run only by Cuban Government and especially cheaper resorts, service may be disaster. So choose very carefully. Selection of the better resort means also number of Cuban people at the property among the quests. Royal service is more expensive than regular site, but provide completely different (than regular site) experience/environment. Overall all, PV is a very good choice, especially Royal service/Royal section and it is run by Melia corporation, Spanish corporation specializing in Cuban business and they know how to handle Cuban specifics. Our grandparents introduced us to this resorts and they love PV. They visited many times, last time in November 2024 and coming back late January 2025. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I had an amazing trip. The food was great and the royal service is amazing. Great stay and great staff. The beach is white and the drinks are amazing too. The staff make the resort the great experience. Their kindness, helpfulness, and caring nature is worth experiencing. I have been here 2 times and will be booking my 3rd in short order.
