Visit Portland’s gardens.

Spectacular flora can be found in both the Japanese and Chinese Gardens. Twined with Suzhou in the Jiangsu province of China, The Lan Su Garden is said to be the most authentic outside of China.

Highlight: Seasonal cherry blossoms in the Japanese gardens.

See Pittock Mansion.

Built by pioneer-entrepreneur Henry Pittock, this magnificent 46-acre property sits 1,000ft above sea level in the hills west of Portland. Pittock revitalized the Oregonian newspaper and his wife Georgiana, started the earliest of Portland's annual Rose Festivals.

Highlight: Take a picnic, bird watch, and enjoy the grounds for free

Walk in the woods.

Enjoy 70m of trails in Forest Park, one of the largest urban forest reserves in the USA.

Portland’s breweries are well loved and offer a unique Cascadia flare. You’ll find a variety of walking, bus and pedicab brewery tours.

Providence Park is a special place and the soccer games are great fun for groups and families. Go early and make a day of it.

Portland Art Museum
Boasting over 42,000 pieces, the Portland Art Museum is one of the leading cultural institutions in the Pacific Northwest. If you’re looking for more, the museum campus is also home to the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art.

Waterfalls
Portland’s outdoors is as vibrant as its indoors, with waterfalls acting as jewels in its crown. A favourite of photographers, Latourell Falls plunges 249ft before crashing into the Columbia River. Enjoy the view of Bridal Veil Falls from the deck and platform, and be sure to go to Multnomah Falls, the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest.

Saturday Market
Stroll along the Portland Waterfront, weekends from March-Christmas Eve, to see vendors showing off their arts and crafts. Hop from booth to booth to enjoy delicious food, all to the soundtrack of street musicians.
