We stayed at the Ventus with an Ocean View room. Accoms were fine (4 Star; Mexican scale). Paid C$5200 (excl flights for 7 nights over March Break through Costco Travel and got a US$350 credit; good value ...for sure. Be aware that booking sit down restaurants is nearly impossible; seemingly not for lack of seating, but either lack of staff or a game the hotel plays to say they have 7 sit down restaurants but then funnel most guests to the cheaper budget option. The buffet food is mediocre at best particularly for dinner; breakfast (omelettes, bacon, fruit etc) and lunch (quite good variety) were fine. The sit down options are generally better; much better in the case of Kobo. Also be aware that the ere are plenty of up charges incl resort fees, lost towel card fees, egregious sundry costs, and pressure to attend 1 hour Platinum Club presentation in order to receive better rates on add-on activities. Evening activities ranged from terrible (lip syncs and dance shows), to quite fun (St Paddy’s Day party and fire show). Similarly, staff seemed like they were just doing their job. Very little effort to make you feel welcome, or meet (let alone exceed) the expectations of a North American traveler.

The resort is pretty good ! The restaurants are amazing! Our units are clean and well maintained .Me and my friends love the place! All the resort personnel are helpful and respectful. Our butlers Noah a...nd Luis gave us a fantastic service! Highly recommended!
