I love this place and I am super picky, especially about noise. This is an older well built hotel. The hotel staff super nice. You can get beach chairs and towels from the desk for free. Two pools , but we... prefer The short stint to the beach which you can see Diamond Head. One other favorite part was on Friday was a free beautiful local singer and on Tuesdays they have a luau event. The front desk could not be friendlier. Also, Dwight, David, and Victor- some Of the nicest bartenders we have met. So fun to speak with. Look at the board by the elevators - Opening of Hawaii Five -0 and Gilligan’s Island Plan to be back again!!!!

We have stayed at the Ilikai many times over the last decade but no longer. While the view of the marina is still wonderful, the place is really going down hill. The "down" escalator at the entrance has be...en broken for years but now the "up" one was broken for the whole month we were there. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night four times, all false alarms with no use of the speaker system to tell anyone what was going on. One night just after 10pm the electricity went off. We were told a notice had been placed by the elevators. Upon checking, it was there. But in an 8 1/2 x11 frame normally holding a notice of the hula show with type that was only about 1/4" high. A few days later, a paper notice was taped to each door warning of spraying for bugs. Why couldn't they have done that for the power outage? Elevators were frequently out of service. The carpeting is worn and the pool towels are some weird fabric that won't absorb water. We will move across the street next year. Also, we were greatly deceived by their most popular rental company, Waikiki Beach Rentals, with a unit that had been grossly changed from what we paid for. Don't us them!!!!
