A Truly Exceptional Disneyland Staycation @ the Westin Anaheim Resort
BenjaminTDo (Lake Elsinore, California) on Mar 23, 2025
I stayed at the Westin Anaheim Resort for two nights with my family, following a full day at Disneyland. We planned to spend the next two days relaxing at the resort, and to say that our stay exceeded expe...ctations would be an understatement. From the moment we arrived, the experience was top-notch. The property itself is spectacular: modern, grand, immaculately clean, and very well maintained. The rooms are incredibly comfortable, with excellent lighting and a premium, contemporary feel. We arrived at around 11:00 PM, and check-in was handled by Soowin at the front desk. She greeted us warmly and was incredibly patient as I fumbled through my reservation details. Understandably, it had been a long and tiring day. Despite my confusion, she remained gracious and helpful, which I truly appreciated. As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite Member, I inquired about late checkout. What I didn’t expect was an upgrade to a spacious studio room on the Club Floor (8th floor). This was such a thoughtful surprise. With two kids, a double stroller, and several pieces of luggage, the extra space made all the difference for our comfort. We were also granted a late 1:00 PM checkout, which gave the kids time for a morning swim in the resort’s heated pool. Yes, heated which made the early morning swim comfortable! Being on the 8th floor, I noticed that the Westin Club Lounge was just down the hall. Located on the top floor, the lounge is a fantastic amenity that offers breakfast, snacks throughout the day, hors d'oeuvres with wine in the evening, and even desserts, popcorn, and champagne during the fireworks. It's complimentary for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum and Titanium Elite Members. As a Gold member, access would normally cost $150 per day for my family of four. When I went to the front desk to inquire about purchasing it, Frankie went above and beyond. He checked with his manager and was able to extend complimentary Club access for our entire stay. That gesture was such a surprise and truly the cherry on top of our experience. It turned out to be a highlight of our visit. The Club gave our kids the freedom to grab snacks throughout the day, and for us, it was a relaxing and convenient place to unwind and enjoy the outdoor view of the park. Our experience there was made even better by William, who was incredibly welcoming and treated every guest like part of his extended family. His hospitality was genuine and warm, and he absolutely made the Club Lounge feel special. While spending the full day at the resort, we never once felt a shortage of dining options. The hotel itself features its own restaurant as well as a stylish rooftop tapas bar. In addition to those, the property also includes Puesto, a modern Mexican concept restaurant, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, and Blossom, which is a quick-serve café and bakery offering fresh, healthy food and great coffee. I didn’t get a chance to visit Blossom, but I saw an ad for it while working out in the gym, and it looked like a great option for a casual bite. During our stay, we had dinner at Puesto and really enjoyed it. We happened to catch their happy hour, which was a great value and we left happy and stuffed. In terms of location, the Westin is wonderfully close to the Disneyland parks. It's about a 12 to 15-minute walk to the main Disneyland entrance, or around 10 to 12 minutes if you're heading to California Adventure via the Grand Californian Hotel entrance. I actually parked our vehicle at the Westin in the morning before check-in and skipped the hassle (and cost) of Disneyland parking entirely, which was incredibly convenient. Our walk back to the hotel in the evening felt very safe and peaceful. Both sides of Disneyland Drive were well lit, and the sidewalks were beautifully lined with string lights and tall palm trees glowing from above. It made for a relaxing stroll after a long day in the parks. I also had the chance to use the gym, and I was impressed. It was spacious, modern, and spotless. It is fully equipped for my regular workout routine. There were fresh towels, cold water, and even chilled towels in the fridge, which were perfect for cooling down post-workout. My family and I used the pool on both days and had a great time. The water was comfortable, and there was a large hot tub too. Poolside service was prompt and professional. We only ordered drinks, but everything we tried was tasty and well made. All in all, this hotel will be our first choice whenever we visit Disneyland or the Anaheim area. Even though we only live an hour away, we’re already looking forward to doing another staycation here. Highly, highly recommend!
Our reservation started out a little frustrating, but the Anaheim Westin Staff took care of us immediately.

Our Reservation started out a little frustrating, but in Westin style the Anaheim Westn staff took care of us immediately. William Bryant in the club lounge stood out to us his service was outstanding. We ...have had a wonderful stay. We will be back for sure.
