Hi! We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults 2 children) Feb 22-march 1. We have been to 4 resorts in the DR and this was the most $ and worst experience. We booked Unique before arriving. In the descriptio...n it’s noted you will arrive with a welcome drink, however this did not happen and check in was a long wait, only 1 person checking in guests at the unique lounge. We arrived at around 4:30pm. The grounds of the resort are amazing - nothing negative about that! It is beautiful walking around the resort. We found the service at the bars / restaurants to be hit or miss. Sometimes we would have great service and sometimes it was not. Orders were forgotten or we were made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff. For guests wanting a great ‘kids disco’ etc - this is not the resort. The kids club is way at the back of the resort and took us awhile to even find it! We were also the only people there - very weird. Other resorts have had a kids disco prior to their night show, which was great. This does not happen. The shows also started at 10pm, which I found was late to begin, especially with kids. The room was very humid (regret not bringing a damp rid). We requested a cot - they literally took the bench from our patio and brought it inside and made a bed - lol. Our lamp shades were covered in mold!! When I saw that I informed the unique desk and they switched it the next day - however, a huge disappointment seeing that at a 5* resort. We also had 2 cockroaches we saw in the room throughout the week. Half way through our week my son and I become very sick. I am overly cautious with the buffets and using hand sanitizer etc. it was definitely something we ate. I did not eat any salads/ raw food. The beach chairs / pool chairs all get reserved by 7:30/8am. Which was disappointing as some people were not there for hours. While waiting to leave to go home to the airport - Nexxus had completely forgotten us. We were not the only ones. The ‘meeting point’ was no help, and we ending up paying for a taxi to the airport in order to not miss our flight home. This was a huge stress especially with 2 young children. The best thing about our trip was our butler - Andreas - he went above & beyond with any requests or concerns. Overall, I would not return to this resort. They definitely try and money grab every chance they can, and ask you to do a 5* rating. I would give my butler 5*, however, the resort not.

Kerry and Francisco and big mama are the best. They should get paid more. They help so much.Kerry especially is awesome and gives me drinks and is so nice and helpful and the best. He should be a manager a...nd get paid 100$ per hour and is so cool and helpful always helps when I need it
