Sol Palmeras will be continuing the remodeling of their guest rooms. Once the remodeling of the initial 164 rooms is completed, they will begin the second stage on July 1, 2024 with the renovation of another 136 rooms in the main building.
The work is being done in phases and taking into account complete blocks of the building that will be isolated to minimize guest disruption.
Completion of the project is expected by April 30, 2025

We got back March 16th, from a week at Sol Palmeras, we were in room 3102, fully renovated room with one kingsize bed, no complaints other than there was only one chair or seat in the room, a second would ...be nice instead of a large artificial plant in the other corner. nice room overall! The resort in general was great, well kept grounds ,pool and a beautiful beach, amazing waterfront, white sand and crystal clear blue water as far as you can see! Never had an issue at any of the bars, we tipped of course and always said please and thank you, had amazing service overall. Unfortunately witnessed many rude guests, so I guess if you don't treat people with respect, you get what you get. Food at the buffet and restaurants was plentiful, always chicken , fish and pork, fruits, veggies, pasta etc. plenty of choices for breakfast as well, if your expecting AAA 28 day aged steak and fine cuisine don't go to Cuba! But the people and the beaches make up for any shortcoming at the buffet. We unfortunately ran into a power outage on day 4, so no AC for the last three days, and we had no hot water for 5 days of the week. This is were, I feel as things were lacking, upon asking for a late checkout on the final morning, I expressed my dissatisfaction for lack of AC and hot water, I was still charged per hour for the extended stay, and additional 60$ and another 60$ for a bottle of wine on our tab, any were else in the world according to the hospitality and service industry, a discount would have been granted for the shortcomings, but I understand, they need the 120$ a heck of a lot more than us, so in the end no issues, we'd gladly go back!
