My husband and I visited 9/13/24- 924/24 At arrival location is beautiful, it’s a big resort with The Royal side connected. We looked up reviews before going and seemed to be a good fit, plenty of restaurants and beautiful location. Little did we know weeks previous the resort had laid off over 200 staff. And believe me we noticed right away. The staff that was still working seemed to work long hours and were not at all friendly. Some were downright rude and for no reason at all , I’d like to say it was just a few but it wasn’t it was a good majority of the staff. With a few exceptions I made sure to get there names because it meant a lot to have the staff cared about our experience. Our housekeeper was amazing she was by far the friendliest person we came across at the resort, her name was Tamara. The groundskeepers always greeted you with a Hello and asked how your day was going. When coming across other staff they’d walk right by you as you offered a hello or asked how they were doing . The resort was nice and full of greenery and flowers which was very well taken care of, shoutout to the groundskeepers! We tried almost all the restaurants on both sides so this was so OUR honest review Chi had really good food, the wait was long but that could be from being short staffed. Bombay was awesome !! We had never tried Indian food and we were amazed service was quick and had wonderful customer service Neptune’s was average pretty bland nothing noteworthy Jerk chicken was the BOMB La Parisienne was average but the desserts was really good Portofinios we didn’t enjoy at all. Service was nonexistent I asked 4 times for lemons, I realized I wasn’t getting any so I stopped asking Merry Monkey was spot on, quick service best burger and fish. Butches hands down was the best. Darren the manager was fabulous. Our server was Amarisa she was friendly and very attentive She was on top of EVERYTHING!! Best service by far! Cafe De Paris and Sweet and Salty had good coffee but by 3rd day they had no flavoring for any coffees besides hazelnut Mariner was horrible I would have done better filling my own refills. We got our 1st drink and were never able to get a refill Spices and American Tavern were good for breakfast a huge assortment of foods. Be advised American Tavern is inside so you don’t have to worry about birds stealing your food. Dinos had good pizza but hands down had the worst customer service . Woman were rude for no reason and acted like you were a burden because the actually had to work and take your order. Overall the staff were all pretty rude ! If your looking for a resort that has a good friendly vibe and praises themselves on hospitality this is not it. Good hospitality can make or break a good experience. We will not be returning nor would I tell someone what a good experience it was. That is was NOT!! We’ll be going back to Jamaica were the hospitality is impeccable and the energy is electric. Everyone has their own different experiences but this is what we left with. People pay for the experience Sandels needs to do better with this one

So disappointed! Terrible service, terrible housekeeping, terrible communication. I have been to many Sandals so I understand how great they are, Barbados was awful from check in to check out. We went with 8 friends who had never been to Sandals and would never go to another one. It was embarrassing!
