Wedding Livestream Disaster - No Refund as Promised
gulliver1875 (Clitheroe, United Kingdom) on May 24, 2025
Wedding Livestream of wedding didn’t work & we were promised refund of the $700 cost on our wedding day. Sandals now state won’t refund as they state had already discounted package & gave us some other ges...tures - these were given as ADDITIONAL gestures by the customer care team - we did not request! Also, the memory stick containing the snapshot photos we chose is blank! (after a battle have since been emailed!) Approx £11,500 spent & a tarnished wedding experience with the worst customer care & no refund! Was planning on returning with friends but the lies re refund means never again & will never recommend.
Beautiful Sandals Barbados!

This resort is absolutely beautiful!! We had a walk out room very close to Cafe De Paris.... Well, LUCKY US!! Everything in the Cafe is Delicioous!!!! Rooms are exactly what you need, beds are comfy. Bathr...oom needs a little TLC, but OK. Everyone is friendly on and off resort. Barbados is a very safe and friendly island. I wish there was more of a variety of nightly shows. The only bad food experience we had was a the Merry Monkey.... SLOW service and food was below average. Butch's and Kimono's were our absolute favorires!! Spices for breakfast was the BEST. Sweet girl took our picture every day after we ate. Service, our room service girl was not on her A game, 2 times she took our towels and forgot to leave any fresh ones. Had to call front desk to get more. NOW, the photo services were AMAZING, or should I say Dwayne was the BEST!! Very attentive, great photos, fun and eager to take our pics. "D" man as we nicknamed him gave us so many great memories with our photos. We bought the entire package. Now, the girls at the pool bar, AMAZING!! KASHEIRA OMG she had the best attitude, laugh and drinks :) I am so sorry I can't remember all their names. THEY know who they are(Slim-Shady). They made every day feel like we were at our home away from home. Cleanliness was superb, except for the poop the chickens left on our porch, BUT, I guess that's what we get for feeding them! Chad brought us on the hobi cat, GREAT time!!!! ALL in ALL if we evr repeat a Sandals it would be to oBarbados!! Thank You Sandals Barbados, my huband and I had the best time....
Not Worth the $$ Why is there a towel issue? If you're hoping for nightlife this isn't your place.

We had high hopes for our stay at Sandals Barbados to celebrate my 50th birthday. Sadly, Sandals did not live up to those hopes. I have always thought of Sandals as a high end brand, but had never really c...ommitted to staying at one because the cost was always too high. The one thing I would give high remarks on would be the food. We typically stay at 4.5 - 5 star resorts in Mexico and find the food is always bland and mediocre. Every meal that we had - including the International Buffet at lunch time - was very good. Although getting reservations to the restaurants was near impossible which didn't make any sense except for the Hibachi tables. Every restaurant that we passed or did have a reservation to was only at maybe 1/4 capacity. Maybe it is a staffing issue and they don't have enough staff to work the tables, but when you are turned away by concierge stating the reservations are full, I would encourage you to stop into the actual restaurant and see if you can be seated - we did and every time it worked. We stayed in a club level ocean view room on the basic side. The room was fine - nothing great for the price. The bathroom had lots of rust and breakdown around the toilet which was gross. But there was a MAJOR towel issue!!! In fact one day our room was cleaned super early - like 8:30 AM and all of our towels including the floor mat were taken and not replaced. At 1:45 PM we tried calling housekeeping with no answer. So we walked to the Concierge lounge and asked for them to intervene. By 8:30 PM we still did not have any towels! We had to shower without one single way to dry off. And it wasn't like we could have used a pool towel because those were gone from every pool AND concierge and our bathrobes were never replaced after they got soaking wet from the rain on the terrace. The pool near our building was always very dirty with junk from the trees and more. It was only cleaned in the early AM and so gross to even go in. If you are hoping for great entertainment, then this is not your place. There is zero night life or shows. The app is crap and wasn't even correct on what was happening each night. Most bars close by 10 pm except for the Merry Monkey which is open later. We ate at the Merry Monkey upon arrival and right when they opened at 5 pm. It took 45 mins to get our food which was mozzarella sticks and poutine. 45 mins and we were the 2nd order in when it opened. The level of alcohol is NOT top shelf which for the cost should be. We voiced our concerns multiple times to the Concierge who's response was always - oh, that's not typical for ... We spoke to so many people at this resort who are loyal Sandals Resort followers. I'm not sure they have stayed at a cheaper yet higher end resort in Riviera Maya like The Haven or El Dorado which for the same number of nights is 1/3 the cost with airfare included! We did the math and our room was $1,135 per night and we purchased airfare separately. That's insane for the maybe 2.5 - 3 star Sandals Barbados Resort.
Lovely time in Barbados

Just back from Sandals Royal Barbados and it was absolutely fantastic. This was our second Sandals holiday ( St Lucia Halcyon first time ) so we knew what to expect. Our room had a balcony with a tub overl...ooking a lazy river. We choose to stay at Club level as it suits us and our budget. Room was a good size and house keeping was exceptional. Although we did return one night to find an extra bed made up. Though this was quickly rectified with a simple phone call. We are beach lovers and I’ve never walked on softer sand. It’s honestly like talcum power absolutely stunning. Only downside was that storms had pushed lots of seaweed in and we only went in the sea a few days. Though you can’t blame Sandals for that. So we’d go to beach and use one of the many pools when we felt the need to cool off. Must give a mention to the landscaping. It’s fantastic. That team work so hard to keep it looking so good. Walking round seeing hummingbirds make it feel so special. We were lucky to see monkeys most days just going about their business. I went on a snorkelling trip provided by Sandals and got to swin with turtles. It was awesome ! We also went on a safari trip with Andre (legend). Had a great morning being driven around the island and we all came away more knowledgable regarding Barbados. We were very impressed with the food we ate during our stay. We particularly liked the Indian restaurant and the Sushi bar. We tended to breakfast at the restaurant du Paris (?). I was having steak for breakfast you can’t go wrong ! Lunch times there was so much choice. Chicken, pizza, burgers, wraps, salads. I’m sure we missed some places during our stay as well ! Don’t forget the doughnut and ice cream shops. You won’t go hungry. My only thing is that I wish there was more local food on offer. Maybe Sandals could allow locals to come into their resorts to allow us to sample more traditional food. We sampled plenty of cocktails on offer though sometimes enjoyed that there was tea and coffee on tap. Initially I thought the staff were rather aloof boarding on rude. This simply wasn’t the case. I found if you engaged them in conversation rather than just “can I have” their warmth came out. Great sense of humour it just takes a bit of effort. Must mention Kenny the bartender. He was so helpful and a great credit to the resort. The matre de at Butch’s ( so sorry I didn’t get his name ) was wonderful. Though still believe Dean Henderson should have had a red (he knows what I’m talking about). All our interactions with staff were absolutely top notch. They work really hard to try and deliver an exceptional experience and sometimes things may not go to plan but think we need to be a bit more understanding. All the checking in/out and transfers to and from airport were perfect. Again the staff were exceptionally helpful. Though would rather have flown with BA than Virgin if I’m going to be critical. So in summary we had an excellent ten days in Barbados and I feel that it’s good value. So thank you all. We'll definitely be booking our next Sandals trip soon.
Relaxing holiday at Sandals Barbados

We stayed 14 nights at this beautiful resort. As always Sandals staff and ethos allows you to relax and unwind as soon as you arrive. The grounds are kept immaculately and you have use of all the amenities... at the Sandals Royal which is right next door, you don’t really notice it’s two resorts as you cross between the two. The food was mostly excellent and our favourite restaurants were Schooners on the Barbados side and Neptunes on the Royal side. The staff were friendly and the service was good. There are lots of excursions to choose from, don’t miss the Friday Fish Fry at Oistins, great local food and entertainment! We absolutely loved our time at this resort and exploring the island of Barbados.
