The best part of our stay was the courteous, friendly & helpful staff & locals. Resort was beautiful, upon arrival we were greeted immediately & given a rum punch to enjoy while checking in. Checking in wa...s easy & we were shown to our room by a staff member. Room was on the first floor, this made it convenient when having to head back to room from pool, restaurant etc. Nice clean room, not huge but plenty of room. Pool was good, never over crowded. Mostly middle age adults. Pool bar was very convenient & they do not skimp on liquor. Food was amazing, different types of meat was wonderful & plentiful. Shout out to Ramaria & Nicholas on their friendliness & helpfulness. Unfortunately beach was covered with seaweed, could not swim or sit on beach due to smell. But you can get a bus to any beach cheaply.

The staff are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet (especially Kimberly, Ache and Tiffiny) and they are very good at what they do. We found the food to be above average and had great variety.... The pool was very nice with a swim-up bar. Our room was a bit small (others were a bit larger) but was cleaned well each day. Unfortunately they were experiencing issues with seaweed on the beach and in the water. Certainly not their fault as most Carribean islands have the same issue but it definitely took away from the experience.

If your looking for a relaxing break then Sugar Bay is the place to be. From checking in to checking out was easy and straight forward. All the staff where so polite and friendly and always had time for a ...chat. The food in all 3 restaurant's were top notch as was Colins beach bar. The meals changed every day, fish and meat were always cooked just right. The main pool had a swim up Bar which was nice bonus. The beach had two area's that ether had a breeze or not, what with the temperature constantly in the 30sC the breezy bit near the main bar was the best spot. Our room 124 was on the ground floor looking out to the pool with your own patio, the room was cleaned every day and spotless thanks to Thelma. If you like Rum try the Coconut Rum, it gets a bit addictive. Many thanks to ALL the staff for making our stay one to remember for a long time. We would recommend Sugar Bay with out a doubt.

Perfect location on the coast, lovely decor, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Reef restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style with additional hot coo...king station. Umi and Steakhouse, specialty restaurants serve excellent food and Colins Rum shop great for lunch and a beach side cocktail. Two of our party had gluten allergy and the restaurant staff/chefs were helpful in identifying the food they could eat and offering to make additional dishes upon request where possible. Pool area very clean and a nice swim up bar. A little limited on space for sun loungers so it can be a struggle to get one after 7.30am but there are plenty on the beach which is also a little cooler due to the sea breeze. The beach area is lovely, free sun loungers and umbrellas, watersports and bar with a lovely view of the ocean. You can walk down the coast to other beaches, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Lazy Mongoose available for a late drink, it does have a unique smell about the place - was a bit off-putting for us. Gym available on site, only small, but provided a fair selection of equipment - cardio, free weights and resistance machines. Space is air conditioned and kept clean. Water and towels available for use. Check-out is 12noon, if you have a later flight there is a hospitality room you can use FOC with showers and changing facilities. There is a spa on site, unfortunately we didn't get the chance to use it so can't comment on this facility We are so glad we picked this hotel for our first visit to Barbados, the staff at the hotel really made our stay extra special and always did their upmost to make you feel a valued guest. It's a great location and it's easy to get to Bridgetown, Oistins Fish Fry, St Lawrence Gap, Carlisle Bay, Brighton Beach and many other places from here

This is our last night at Sugar Bay and what a fantastic holiday this has been. The resort and staff have been amazing. The food has been out of this world. We have not had a bad meal during our 12 day all... inclusive stay. Uni and Sizzle Steakhouse were nice for a change from the buffet, but the food was so good at the buffet as well. Lots of choice for everyone one, with gluten free options clearly labelled. The reception team, waiters/waitresses, chefs and team, bar staff, pool staff, beach guys, gardeners, maintenance, housekeeping and the security team have all been so lovely. Helpful advice was received re meal themes and entertainment from Nikolai, Justin was also a font of information which was really useful when planning trips etc. The waitresses and waiters were so happy and cheerful, and always happy to assist. A wonderful team, who all work really hard and clearly enjoy working at Sugar Bay. The manager is frequently present, overseeing things and very approachable and welcoming. A very good choice of cocktails at all the bars. Not too strong, but not watered down either. Good choice of decent wine at meal times too. Our room was clean, spacious with a large patio. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning most welcome. We treated ourselves to a couples massage at the spa, which was the best massage we have ever received. Sugar Bay is a truly special place and we leave with many happy memories, what more can you ask for! Thanks to everyone for making this such a great holiday.
