It’s ok … ish Old and tired, worn out The bathroom was so so small in our two bed room The air conditioner/heat/fan unit didn’t work well We booked on Expedia and showed up and were told we didn’t actu...ally have fee breakfast. Whatever, the IGA was just a 2 minute walk away so we made do The location is great but do you like trains?? Like really love the chooooo choooo of a train whistle?? Because you will hear that allllllll night long The hot tubs and workout area are a joke, unusable. If you need something cheap in central, and you don’t plan to be in it for very many hours of the day, go for it.

We booked the hotel with Booking.com, another company we will never use. We booked a room with one bed. At the arrival at the reception we were told we had one with two beds, we explained we booked one bed... and we were given a one bed room that did not have a balcony outside. The balcony door and window were facing an interior room that serves as a conference room. The next morning a whole sympnony orchestra started repeating in the conference room. At checkout the receptionist was shouting at my wife, who was waiting in the loby while I was out loading the car, that our payment for food did not go through. I returned, and explained we did not order any food. Their bartender apparently misscharged us. Had the charge gone through we would not even been noticed. When I complained about the room and the noise the receptionist replied that that space is public and the orchestra has the right to be there. No explination why were we given such a room. The whole place looks filthy, unatractive and the "restaurant" we did not even dear to use. Highly not recommended. This used to be a good hotel in the past. Since it was taken over by this new company it is to be avoided. Interesting is that when I tried leaving a review with Booking.com I was told that this company has a sort of an arrangement that one can not let a review with Booking.com even if the room was booked via Booking.com.

The hotel is perfect. Place is spotless. Reception could not have been more helpful. Arrived early. Parked in carpark. Bedroom just brilliant. Bed aaaamazing.. So comfy. Restaurant great. Barman in restau...rant... sorry didn't catch name is great...

All staff members we encountered were super-friendly, from the check-in lady, the superb Susan behind the bar to the ones we passed in the hall. Our meal [Sicilian Pizza] was excellent and arrived promptly.... Location is in the heart of Banff, no need for us to drive. Room was clean and the updated bathroom was lovely and bright. Add in the very reasonable cost and we will be back.

The Ptarmigan Inn is located on the main street in Banff, Alberta. We had a nice room on an upper floor and there was free parking in the hotel underground garage. The hotel was close to many shops and res...taurants. Also there was a restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel called Meatball.
