Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres All Suites & Spa is a 5* family resort, full of life and situated at one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mexican Caribbean. We were taught how to make authentic guacamole with very specific cutting techniques of onion, tomato, avocado and cilantro. We finished and added lime, salt and ground pepper. We loved the dedication and ...patience Very fun class with Angel, Daniela y Alan !!

Overall, we had a very good vacation here. The staff were attentive and friendly, especially Fernando (at Adelita), Emmanuele (chef for dinner at Adelita), Javier (at the lobby bar), Jorge (at Mamma Mia),... as well as our butlers Carla and Lizbeth. The beach is lovely, the room was nice and the food good. Our only complaint is that there are not a lot of gluten free options for our daughter, who has Celiac. Before we arrived, I had sent the resort a couple of emails letting them know of her food restrictions and was assured the staff could accommodate her dietary needs. However, at most of the restaurants, including Adelita (during the day when Emmanuele was not there), Mamma Mia, the Burger place, and both food trucks, she was turned away with little or no options of GF food to eat. At the buffet, we spoke to the chefs who had a limited selection of the kind of food she wanted to eat. They also did not have gluten free buns for burgers (we brought our own from Canada), no muffins (we brought our own), and no gluten free flour to bake something for dessert. Other resorts we stayed at were able to make gluten free dishes with a day's notice but this one really struggled. Even when we (or our butlers) ordered gluten free room service, the order often either didn't appear or was hours late. For the next family vacation with our daughter, we would be worried about returning.
