Lovely hotel

Firstly, I’d like to remind people that this review is MY experience and will not be the same as everybody else’s experience. We had a 10 night stay. On a whole this hotel has been lovely and I do recomm...end it. I’ll give some individual pointers as I personally find these handy when I’m looking for reviews. ARRIVAL TO HOTEL concierge took our suitcases straight from the taxi and brought them to our rooms. Check in was incredibly easy and finding our room was easy to considering how big the resort is. HOTEL ROOMS we were given the privilege upgrade so not sure what the basic rooms are like but ours was lovely. Very clean. Maid service twice a day. Sheets changed every 3 days. Water bottles replaced every day. Fizzy drinks replaced every other day. Maids left nice little flowers on the beds. Only down side is the air con. It’s a bit noisy but in our case it was a blessing as I’m an early riser so the other guests in the room weren’t wakened by me walking round because of the air con. 10/10 for the rooms. POOL AREA The pool is lovely and warm throughout the day. Plenty of shallow bits for the children. However, it could have done with a water slide area for children. We travelled with a 5 year old boy and if I hadn’t of bought some toys for him to play with he would have got bored quite easily. Waiter service for drinks quite regular but plenty of bars for you to go get drinks when needed. Plenty of sun beds. Never an issue getting a bed but we liked the 4 poster beds as we needed the shade for the little one. These can be a struggle to get. The executive stay people like to put their towels on to reserve them not turn up all day - so rude! First few days we had no issues laying our towels down on these beds then going for breakfast but after a few days the staff were removing our personal towels. There are no signs to say you can’t reserve beds so I didn’t take too kindly to this. BEACH the beach is amazing and beautiful. Lovely white sand and clear waters. May is high season for sea weed but the tractors were out early every morning clearing it away so not really a problem. Waiter service at the beach also. Volley ball area. Water sports at a cost also. These are quite expensive. I paid 1800 mxn for 2 of us 30mins on a jet ski. Was worth it though. Not sure the price for the other activities. People walking round offering gifts and activities but they not in your face and not forceful. FOOD there are plenty of restaurants and a buffet area. Food is quite repetitive in the buffet area but still nice food. The other restaurants was lovely food but across the board it’s not child friendly. Not a lot of choice for children in the food department. There is a fish taco stand (didn’t use at all) and there was a burger/hot dog stand. These are not typical hot dogs for kids, they are chorizo sausage with pesto and trimmings. First one I had was lively but the second one was extremely under cooked so didn’t get another. The burgers are lovely to and very large. There are no ice cream stations which, considering this is a family hotel, I would expect to see close to the pool. You can get ice cream from the buffet area but it’s quite a walk between the pool and the buffet. There is a crepe bar which has been a huge hit for us. Various options for crepes. 10/10 On one day they brought an ice cream cart round but for a 10 night holiday I was disappointed it only happened once. Like I said earlier, plenty of bar areas, all clean. Pool bar is lovely and never a huge queue. Also, there is a smoothie bar which, unfortunately does always have a queue but it’s worth waiting for as the smoothies are delicious. All made fresh. ENTERTAINMENT Zero complaints about the entertainment. Day and night entertainment has been amazing. Various activities on through out the day. Shows on an evening are incredibly to. 10/10 for the entertainment. There is a kids club but we didn’t use it. SERVICE overall service in the hotel has been amazing. Very friendly. Eager to help. Has been a couple of staff that looks like they have chewed a wasp but everyone has bad days and this didn’t ruin our time here. SHOPS now this is a downfall of the hotel. The shops are incredibly expensive. They do have near enough everything you would need but charge a fortune for it. There are no shops close to the hotel either. You would need to get a taxi to the town which is a 30 min taxi ride. If you’re bringing kids try to bring plenty of snacks for the room as you can before coming. VAPING/SMOKING I usually vape and don’t smoke but don’t mind the odd cigarette when I’m on holiday. you can not buy vapes in the shops here. Very limited options on cigarettes which are also expensive. As the law states you can not bring vapes into Mexico but I was told I could buy them here. The only place to buy vapes at this hotel is from the people on the beach selling stuff. Now, you can haggle the price which I definitely recommend you do. They state they are 4000 puffs but no where near that. They don’t last 24 hours. Now, the people I bought them from have been so nice and have given me a couple for free because of this. Originally they tried to charge 500mxn per vape but I paid 400. Then when I started having problems they accepted 400 for 2. Try to stop at a shop before coming to the hotel to stock up on vapes if possible. There are designated smoking areas but hand on heart never seen anyone smoking here. LOCAL WILDLIFE there are various animals that wander round this hotel. We seen coati’s, an iguana, some sort of gerbil thing, various birds, pigs and even a mama monkey with a baby on her back. Now not one of them are a problem except the coatis! These buggers will steal your food. We were sat on our sun bed eating our burgers and one came up and stole my aunts burger. Staff are quite good at getting rid of the animals whilst you’re in a restaurant. Ants are a big problem here. The little critters are everywhere although this can not be helped and is not the hotels fault. It’s a very clean hotel with not a lot of bins which we found strange initially but considering how many wildlife there is it’s a blessing not having bins everywhere as they would just be in them all the time. All in all this hotel is highly recommended. I wouldn’t come back with a child but if I was travelling with just other adults I’d definitely come back.

We arrived back 2 weeks ago, and it was one of our best holiday’s to date and would be ?? go back there and hopefully will go back there. All the restaurants were excellent although personally I would like... my food a warmer. The restaurant they have is a steak house, tapas, Mexican, Italian, Japanese and the Beloved. In addition there is the buffet restaurant which is there mid day and evenings. Note there is a chocolate fountain there every lunchtime - my highlight! The coffee shop for us was an added bonus, lattes, cappuccinos etc and little cakes is a nice touch . The rooms were excellent and very clean. All the staff were very friendly. To improve I would make more use of the area outside the restaurants, maybe a bar that is open in the evening as there are already seats and tables. Maybe having a cocktail list available to view around the bar for the evening in addition to the one in the pool. With our room, I would like to mention our maid called Maricela she was amazing, she would leave a amusing towel display, I loved her displays using the beautiful red flowers taken from the gardens
