Traveled to the Grand Palladium with approximately 15 others for a birthday celebration for my daughter. I would like to start with pre-planning and acknowledge Marianna who solidified the deal on doing my event at this resort. Every step of the way, every little detail, addition she was able to accommodate. She was very responsive to my emails and inquiries and made the planning process very easy and enjoyable. Upon arrival, check-in was very smooth, our room was upgraded upon arrival which is the room I definitely wanted but not at the price point (that was a pleasant surprise). Our room was ready with our early arrival which was nice. Id requested for the room to be decorated upon arrival and it was to my expectations. The view from the family selection loft (panoramic view) is unbelievable so amazing. We had no issues with the accommodations. However, after day 3 there was difficulty getting replacement washcloths. The resort is large and it was very hot (rained one day during our stay). Club carts were readily available with short waits and definitely needed due to the distance of family selection from most of the attractions and restaurants. We frequented every pool and of course the beach. By far the fizz pool was our favorite, gave some privacy. Unfortunately we didn't get an opportunity to visit the TRS area. Food: Buffet food was repetitive, but if you've been to an all inclusive (it is what it is). Favorite restaurant was the steakhouse and of course the food served at the private event. Lunch at the nest (a la carte) was nice. I wasn't fond of the cocktails served (anywhere) most overly sweet or underwhelming. The rainy day didn't stop the festivities and was actually welcomed, to slow down and relax. We had fun with the indoor activities with the children. Accommodations my event was exceptional. Due to rain the day of the event I chose the indoor option (Poseidon) which has a beautiful beach front view, much better than the beach. My daughter truly enjoyed her LED/Fire show performance and I am happy they were able to accommodate my fire request. Overall it was a nice experience and I enjoyed my time at the resort even. Anything I didn't agree with didn't overshadow the entire stay.
Excellent Stay at the Grand Palladium, Family Selection/TRS

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Resort which was booked thru Costco from 7/7 - 7/12. We found there was value captured with a more competitive rate including transportation and a Costco Cash card. Upon checking in, we requested an upgrade at an additional cost ($200 per night) from the main Palladium area to either Family Selection or the TRS adult only area. Both were offered and we decided to go with the Family Selection option because the room was an ocean view loft (2 story) instead of a garden view suite at TRS. Either of these upgrades or direct bookings will open all venues and restaurant options for you across the entire property. If you book only in the main Palladium area none of the TRS/FS restaurants, bars, pools and beach areas are open to Palladium only guests. We went down to Cancun to celebrate our anniversary with our 21 year old daughter and the hotel comp'd one of the premium (extra charge) restaurants Le Petite Chef as an anniversary gift. If you are traveling as just a couple or with adults we found the best place to be is at the adult pool area assuming you have booked either TRS or FS. Family Selection and the main Palladium complex does have a lot of smaller children which would be excellent for families and those areas were pretty active. Both TRS and Family Selection has dedicated butler/service that is seamlessly in contact either by person or thru WhatsApp. It’s a nice touch. Our Butler Luis was very helpful in arranging dinner reservations, room service, ice, transportation, you name it. Luis did a phenomenal job and was incredibly attentive, can’t thank him enough. Nathaly who worked primarily the later shift does a great job also. We only used the adult pool area and no other pool areas on the property. We found it very relaxing, lot’s of small entertainment venues, exercise venues etc. The one area which knocked it out of the park for us was the service at the pool. Roger was primarily our pool waiter and did a phenomenal job also. Very attentive, alway there to serve drinks and many times the drinks would just show up unannounced and was well received! Roger was fantastic and can’t thank him enough for all the service and food requests, he went out of his way many times and it was apparent he was very much experience driven and a great genuine person. Rodrigo filled in for a day and was also excellent and did a great job but didn’t get to know him as well given the short time. Also worth a huge mention was Ferni who served as pool concierge being sure you have the spot at the pool you would most like, positioning umbrellas, providing dry towels (yes even after a rain or two). Ferni, just like Roger was incredibly attentive (they could have been brothers, jk) and we can’t thank them both enough. Like Rodrigo for Roger, Michael filled in for Ferni one day and was equally attentive regarding concierge services. It was a very pleasant and relaxing time at the TRS adult pool. The facility itself is like a small city. The entire complex is just a few years old and the grounds are impeccable and beautiful. Very clean and very well manicured. This a big complex, but the transport around the property was very convenient. At most we waited 5 minutes for either a golf cart or a boat to get us to where we needed to go. We ate at many of the restaurants which to our surprise most are all-inclusive, sit down, international cuisine experiences unlike the standard all-inclusive buffet style which Palladium also has but even the Palladium buffets are substantially better than most of the other all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at. Notable restaurants we especially liked was Le Petite Chef which was a very cool experience, excellent staff and great food. For planning purposes, Thursdays are 5-course dinners which include lobster. Le Petite is only a 3-table, 4-place restaurant so it’s very intimate and entertaining, kids would love the animation. El Gaucho (Argentinian) was excellent and Chic Caberet dinner/show was not to be missed. Chic was the best experience we’ve had at any resort by far regarding entertainment. Tailored for adults only, food was top notch, singers and dancers were top notch, pretty much everything was top notch. Chic is a little pricy at $150 per person but if you are at Family Selection or TRS it is $100 less per person. Very much worth $50 pp. We also ate at Capricho for breakfast which was excellent, Helios for lunch was excellent and dinner at La Boheme - good, Sumptuori (hibachi) - good. All the bar venues were excellent as well. It’s almost impossible to hit all the food/drink venues but on the whole they were all very well presented. There is an abundance of entertainment options from bingo to the high end Chic experience. All venues are easily found on the Palladium app where you can make dinner reservations once checked in (or your butler if at TRS/FS will do this for you) and the map within the app were very helpful finding all these venues. Palladium is a beautiful, expansive property that is king to the all-inclusive resorts we’ve been to so far. The grounds are meticulously maintained, great rooms, great venues, great food (with few exceptions) and the staff are all very friendly, approachable, helpful and really quite commendable. We will definitely be back. Planning on a return trip this December with 3 couples at TRS.
