We stayed at El Cid for 2 weeks in February. We were a bit unsure how it would be, based on reviews we read previously, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It is located right by the cruis...e ship terminal, so about 30-40 minute walk to town - which we enjoyed for exercise. (There are taxis readily available if you don't feel like walking). There were always spots available at the pool (no towel games!) and beachside. We really enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the hotel, and there were plenty of fish to see. The activities coordinator, Roger, did a great job at getting people involved, and we enjoyed playing pool volleyball. We stayed in room 2310 and it had an amazing view and a bistro table to enjoy morning coffee/sunset happy hours. We were happy with our choice not to do the all-inclusive. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times and the food was great and reasonably priced, compared to town. There is only one restaurant so I think it could get boring if doing AI. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would choose this resort again if returning to Cozumel.

Went for the day while cruising and porting in Cozumel! Third time there with the all inclusive day pass , would definitely recommend, great food, drinks & 5 star service, Ruby took great care of us - was ...very attentive , Friendly & had great customer service! Ask for Ruby at your next visit!

Nice resort with lovely staff, clean rooms and good food. Dive resort onsite was handy. Good value for a small resort but it’s not a huge 5 star resort which was good for us as we like a smaller place. ...

The staff that works there are outstanding. Allemby, works in the office and was always very responsive to our needs and never once made us feel like we were bothering her. Ruby was part of the wait staff ...that took care of us on the beach. She was always there when we needed anything. Both Allemby snd Ruby always had a smile on their faces and treated us with kindness. The grounds could use a little work, more sand on the beach and basic cosmetic updates.

Amazing staff, thank you Rodger from the activities team for having fun activities everyday! Scuba diving and snorkeling at the resort was great. We Would Recommend this hotel, everyone was welcoming and a...lways willing to help. Island is very clean and safe to explore.
