This may not be the Hyatt for you. Consider the Hyatt REGENCY.

This location is CLOSE to the beach BUT NOT BEACH FRONT. It is about a 5 minute walk away. This hotel has mini fridge in every room BUT NO MICROWAVE in the room, only 1 shared microwave in the lobby. It di...d have a cute little coffee/tea solo cup maker in the room. The rooms and modern and clean and the balcony opens so you may sit outside and enjoy the weather (not so much the view depending on which direction you are facing). It is easy to valet your vehicle (but pricey $55/night) & the valet people are really nice and pretty quick. Service staff and house keeping are really nice and professional, BUT the food onsite is lacking. "The Placery" only has a few items on their menu, and the little snack area is a glass display case with candy and drinks. NO VENDING MACHINES onsite either. There is a Dominos pizza attached to the property that is open until 1 am, and Food trucks just outside and an ABC Store next door. Breakfast is pretty decent and they rotate the meats (bacon, chicken sausage, Portuguese sausage) everyday, but the oatmeal, yogurt, cereals/breads, rice, miso, tofu/kimchi are every day standards. Breakfast is served in and OUTSIDE kitchen/rooftop type area, so be careful of the birds. The service staff does their best to shoo the birds away though. The pool was closed the duration of our stay, but we were told we could use the pool at a neighbor hotel (which we never did). The reason this hotel got a "2 Star" which is really a 1.5 star btw, is the elevator system. One tower has 2 elevators for 20 floors, the other side has 3 elevators for 12? 15? floors. During high traffic times: breakfast, morning rush, check out, check in, dinner time, etc. expect to wait in line for atleast 7-10 minutes to be able to squish in. YES, SQUEEZE IN. If you don't like people all up in your personal space, this hotel IS NOT FOR YOU. The people working at this hotel were all very friendly and professional, its just the building and layout itself wasn't thought out well.

Great Hotel, Perfect Location

Robin J (Georgia) on Apr 11, 2025

This was a great hotel for our Spring Break trip. While it is not “right on the beach” it was only about an easy five minute walk to Waikiki Beach. We were able to get to Pearl Harbor within about thirty m...inutes (traffic made it take that long). There is everything imaginable in walking distance (we went to the ABC Store that was mere steps from the hotel many times!) It was about a ten - fifteen minute walk to Dukes and the International Market. I chose this hotel because of the bigger beds and the ability to get a room with a sofa bed so my teenage sons didn’t have to share. Our room was very large, had a mini fridge, and we could see the ocean from our balcony. Be prepared to wait for the elevators sometimes, especially at busy times. They’re a bit slow but we never waited longer than a few minutes. We got free water bottles at checkin for the bottle filling stations. There was a little “restaurant” in the lobby (and I got a very tasty chicken sandwich one evening) and two gift shops. They had towels for the beach and pool at the front desk. The pool was unfortunately closed for renovations when we were there but we could’ve used the pool at a neighboring hotel if we’d wanted. There were various beach items available to borrow (these are first come first serve). We got beach chairs the afternoon of our last day there. They had an included breakfast buffet and it was okay. Adequate but not great. The staff was so incredibly friendly from the folks at the front desk to the valet guys. We’d definitely stay here again if we ever came back to Waikiki.

Comfy overnight stay

This was a quick overnight stay due to a long layover. All staff members that we encountered were helpful and courteous. Our room was comfortable and we loved the soundproof walls, this allowed for a great... night sleep! Breakfast was awesome too!!

Average Hotel with very good breakfast.

Melinda B on Apr 08, 2025

The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Overall experience with the Hotel and location wasn't optimal. I was disappointed the pool was closed during our stay and no one told us that until we g...ot there. Staff was very good though and attentive.
