0/10. Do not stay here

Checked in at 3:00 pm for what was supposed to be 6 days of relaxation and fun. Checked out exactly one hour later after check in. Room was filthy, mold on the ceiling, unidentified stains on the sheets. Hotel staff at front desk completely unprofessional. I booked through Priceline and Priceline would try to get a hold of them and the front desk staff would pick up and hang up. We asked to see another room and they showed us the room next door that was in the exact condition. I have asthma and suffer from heart disease. Unnecessary stress from what is supposed to be a vacation. Do yourself the favor and don’t book here. The place reeks of fish as soon as you walk in. DO NOT BOOK. Don’t make the same mistake that I did, hotel won’t even offer a refund and I didn’t even spend a single night. NO RESERVES. No cometas el mismo error que yo, el hotel ni siquiera ofrece un reembolso y ni siquiera pasé una sola noche.

All meals were mediocre to good. Staff was generally very good to excellent, with the exception of the "entertainment director," who appeared to be anti-North Americans. Disliked · David Bustos, the "entertainment director" was clearly biased against non-Spanish speaking guests. We were there for New Year, but David Bustos, who used to provide English translations, now refuses to do so. As such, we were effectively excluded from the festivities because we did not understand what was being presented. We also were excluded from the raffle because the winning numbers were presented only in spanish. Because we felt that we were intentionally excluded for apparently racist reasons, we left the New Year's celebration at about 9:30 pm. What we could not determine, but suspected, this exclusion was due to a policy set by top management. The majority of the staff was very accommodating and curteous. However, it was clear that our presence was not appreciated by David Bustos. We paid a great deal of money to be there for more than two weeks, but feel that we were cheated. We will not be returning and will be telling people to pursue other places to stay for their vacations in Ixtapa.
Again a nice stay!

My husband and I spent 10 days at the Tesoro Ixtapa during the Easter holidays. The hotel was full with mainly Mexican visitors. It was a delight to see all their little kids having fun, and although we were many, it never felt uncomfortable to be surrounded by so many people. We have been to this hotel before and we are happy to say, that they have improved it quite a bit. Our room was comfortable and clean, we had a small balcony with a partial view to the ocean. Unfortunately, due to the AC noise, it is impossible to seat outside! The buffet restaurant provides very good food with a great variety of dishes, one can always find something delicious to eat. The staff in general is amazing, always ready to serve with a friendly and speedy manner, we thank them all. We would like to highlight a few of them who’s service was great: Oliva, Esther, Patsy, Miguel, Manuel, Jorge, Guadalupe y Mauricio. We feel comfortable to recommend a stay in the Tesoro Ixtapa but maybe not when there is a big Mexican holiday time! Ana María and Uwe

West facing rooms listen to the HVAC units from the Park Royal. East facing units listen to HVAC from the Krystal... Noise from partying was also noticeable... The west view was stunning - with beautiful sunsets and vistas. Condos had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, eating, dining, and leisure areas with two balconies. A few visitors seemed to 'control' pool seating - to the point of shooing kids away. As a fellow visitor, this was embarrassing to see. Bartender(s) worked incredibly hard but couldn't keep up with the drinkers... Increase staff and have the 'Blue Shirts' pitch in!
Overly crowded

We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath room with a nice balcony overlooking the pacific. Daniel at the reservation desk was helpful and attentive. Jose the bellman was super. The pool and beach were very crowded. Not a holiday week but there were twice as many children as adults. Most nights there were weddings on the beach that went to all hours of the early morning with very loud music. The housekeepers tried to keep things clean but there was so much mildew in the bathrooms. The mold around the AC vents was rather disturbing. I do not recommend this hotel.
