Fantastic place

Molly S on Mar 16, 2025

Great location. We have only stayed in building 1 and 10. Both locations were fantastic. We have stayed here 4 times and each visit was great. Kamoale beach park 3 is right across the street. Enjoy... the sunsets from the park. We felt very safe here. The grounds are well kept; great pool/hot tub areq. Very nice BBQ areas!!

Another GREAT STAY at KAMAOLE SANDS!

Lots2Sea on Jan 18, 2025

Just returned from another fantastic stay at Kamaole Sands. We enjoyed a lovely view of the ocean, fountains and gardens from the unit we rented in building 1. We’ve stayed in building 5 & 10 and those ...views have been great too! The unit we rented was clean, upgraded, had ac (without a timer) and was well cared for. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in our unit as well as a full kitchen to save on dining out every meal. There are nice BBQ’s for guests to use in the central courtyard. My favorite bonus of staying at Kamaole Sands is the free live music and hula on Wednesday afternoons. Hawaiian musician, Anthony Pfluke, is outstanding! Other property amenities include: pool, hot tub, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and gym. Parking is ample & free. Each condo is privately owned, so furnishings & ac (or lack thereof) varies. Condos can be rented through a variety of property managers as well as Airbnb, VRBO, etc. Over the years we have used PMI Maui, VRBO & vacation-Maui.net and have been happy with each of our experiences! Family that we traveled with rented through Castle and had an unfortunate experiences with damaged appliances and a refrigerator that quit working (per staff, Castle knew the fridge was having problems and rented the unit anyway!) Having been in 5 different units over the years that Castle managed, I probably won’t ever book through them. Overall, Kamaole Sands is a beautifully landscaped complex that is well taken care of & undergoing more upgrades! The tennis & pickleball courts have been resurfaced and new BBQs installed . Beautiful new security gates were being put in during our stay. Kamaole Sands is across the street from the Kamaole 3 park & beach, staffed by lifeguards. There’s a fantastic beach walk across the street along the coastline that leads south to Wailea. Restaurants are within walking distance, though a car is handy for staying in Kihei. TIPS FOR BOOKING: I prefer to select the individual unit we rent. Things I look for: view, location (I prefer the inner courtyard buildings 1,2,3,5,6, and 10, air conditioning in both the living area and bedroom(s) without timers (some owners install timers due to the high power cost), upgrades and reviews. I also look at cancellation policies. If a unit is listed on VRBO or Airbnb and shows a property manager, by booking directly through the property manager’s website often there is a savings.

Lovely hula on Wednesday

Ashleigh H on Nov 20, 2024

We stayed with family here and had a nice time. We enjoyed the BBQs, pickleball and accommodations. But what was a real treat was the hula on Wednesday. Four of us went up for the lesson! We had a great ti...me. This hula lesson was a highlight of staying at Kamaole Sands.

Kamole Sands Unit 7-308. Can't miss !

bobambro (Phoenix, Arizona) on Nov 01, 2024

let me start by saying that in what i believe was the 24th trip my wife and i have taken to the islands over the years (almost always in condos) , this could very well be in the top 2 or 3 properties out... of them all. the grounds are a beautifully kept tropical oasis right accross from Kam 3 beach. Kam 3 has both nice sandy areas as well as some rocky areas on ether end which provides some snorkeling opportunities and the occasional turtle joining you for a swim. eveything around the property was spotless and stayed that way over the 12 days we were there. the unit was very clean and well appointed with most any kitchen item you may need and the appliances seemed relatively new with everthing working perfectly. the room also had a nice boogey board, beach towels and umbrella that all came in handy accross the street. the bathrooms (yep 2 of them) had nicely tiled showers as well as soap, shampoo and lotion in both. the unit was a bit larger that i expected with a small 3rd floor patio overlooking the beautiful grounds and even had a peak at the ocean if you positoned yourself just right. the pool area had 2 hot tubs, a seperate kid pool and a small gym with a very nice bathroom/shower area. remember, each unit here is different, so 7-308 is the unit i am reviewing. we would DEFINITELY stay here again. i should aslo mention that the host was a delight to deal with. thanks for that.

Great location, best suited to young families.

Robert M (Noosa, Australia) on Oct 17, 2024

Kamaole Sands is positioned across from an idylic beach, kam2, so an easy minute walk from the hotel entrance. There are no shops or restaurants very close. Our ground floor apartment was excellently po...sitioned at the front of the complex with a lanai overlooking manicured grounds, a huge fountain, and the ocean between the trees. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped with kitchen and laundry. It was dark and a bit run down but fine for a few days for our stopover between the mainland and Australia. The pool facilities were overrun by kids- Kihei seems to attract mostly families- so the pool and hot tubs were full of small kids in underpants, not very appealing. But the beach is great for a swim instead. I am not a big fan of Maui, not very pretty other than amazing Haleakala, and not sure I would go back to either the island or the resort, as we prefer Kauai, big island and Oahu. The hotel was very difficult to find on google. The side entrance is closed and there is no signage to tell guests where else to go. Best to enter from south Kihei rd.
