SEMA 2024
Shana J on Nov 09, 2024
Chose to stay at the Conrad because my husband and I were attending SEMA 2024. Close proximity to the convention center. Distance to convention center is walkable, but we chose to buy day passes for the Vegas Loop (aka TeslaTunnel) for $5/person/day. Very cool experience! Check-in: Arrived shortly after 11pm on Sunday. One person in line in front of us, so we got our room key within 10 minutes. The room: Booked a one-bedroom suite. 7th floor. Room 7212. King bed with huge ensuite bathroom, plus a powder room at the entrance. Beautiful decor in the entire suite. Nespresso coffee maker in living room area. Small fridge to chill drinks and store leftovers. A couple of housekeeping issues discovered upon arrival. Random hair in soaker tub and on the counter beside the ice bucket. Filthy glassware at ice bucket (loads of smudges and what appeared to be red wine remnants at the bottom of the cups). Contacted housekeeping immediately and left a message with the bot “Red”. Three staff members arrived within 15 minutes to resolve issues. They even re-mopped the bathroom floor to ensure cleanliness. Housekeeping was always very responsive when we left a message with “Red”. Staff consistently arrived within 10 minutes or so. Calls were for daily cleaning (once) and to order extra pillows & blanket. Turndown service was provided nightly during our stay. Bed and Pillows: Not great. Bed was hard and felt worn out. Pillows completely flat. Ordered two extra pillows and that did help increase sleep comfort. Bathroom: Soaker tub was fantastic! We bought bags of Epsom salt at the Walgreens across the street and enjoyed hot baths after many hours of walking the SEMA convention. Shower was huge, but the rainfall shower head was basically useless. Water pressure so low that I couldn’t rinse the shampoo out of my hair. Handheld shower head was much better. Location: Great for convention attendees, but far from the rest of the strip. Limited restaurant choices. Food hall was disappointing. Low quality food at inflated prices. Dawg House was much better regarding food quality, portions and value for money. Juniors was good for breakfast, as was Wally’s. Would also recommend Carversteak for an upscale dining experience. Spendy, but food and service were amazing. Cost: Total was C$2928.24 for 4 night stay from Sunday to Thursday. C$645.67/night, taxes and fees C$345.56 Overall: Great location if attending a convention or want to be far from the action of the strip. Wifi was very good. Would consider staying again, but only if attending a convention.

This entire resort is a jokel. Check-in : No one told us our hilton honor gold daily credit only appllied to Dawg house. One place in an entire resort. No upgrade offered. not even a higher floor. Digital key is so-so and fails at unlocking the elevator or sometimes your rooms door. Close the app and reopen it. it fixes the problem. Room : 1 bedroom suite facing the strip was nice, with partial view of the the sphere. 2 days in a row, no coffee pod refill. Suite not service at all one day. No turndown service at all. Resort : The resort has limited food and drinks options. Many restaurants, food courts restaurants close 2 days or more during weekdays. The few good lounges (Alle 66 and Gatsby) were closed for "private events" half the time. It is all cold and unwelcoming. More of a Los Angeles vibe than Las Vegas. Good luck getting food at 8 am. The very breakfast option will be overcrowded if there is any convention being held. Checkout : I was granted a 2 hours lates check because I'm Hilton gold. Yay ! My local chinese restaurant loyalty program is actually better. Thanks Hilton. I am so impressed. I'll stick to the Encore or the Waldof astoria. Heck even the Harrah's offers a *much* better experience. I can see MGM or Ceasar taking over that place within 3 years.
