We spent a week with family and friends at the resort. I was 100% pleased with the hotel, pool, staff, food and services offered. We took advantage of everything. The juice drinks at check in started the trip off right. The staff was so friendly and if you asked for anything they did it right away. The pool bar was fun. The gym was clean and open 24/hr. We did beach yoga, pickle ball tourney, paddle boarding and kayaking. All included. They also have massages and souvenirs right at the beach and they are so friendly. We also took advantage of extra day trips. A friend had told us to look for Erik G. In the blue shirt at the beach. Erik handled our three trips: zip lining, sloth sanctuary, waterfall hike (my fave). Communication was great. He prepared us for each and prices were great. The lunch at the ranch was a delicious & authentic experience.

Our family of four had an absolutely amazing time at the Westin in early July. The resort itself is very large so expect to do lots of walking. There are also shuttles which run up and down the resort all day and night. The bonus is that you don’t feel crowded, it was very peaceful and quiet most of the time. Rooms were literally the cleanest we’ve ever seen at an all inclusive of this class. The pool area is massive with tons of seating and lots of little areas to set up for a day of swimming and sunbathing. The beach is expansive and clean but the waves and surf are quite strong. The “buffet” style dining is quite good for an all inclusive. We would put it on par with what we’ve experienced elsewhere like Bahamas or Jamaica. The a la carte restaurants were not bad. Our favourite was Bamboo. Book the second you arrive, they fill up very quickly. The best thing about this resort (and Costa Rica in general) is the people. The staff were simply amazing, expressive, friendly and outgoing. They were genuine, especially when we bungled through our broken Spanish. Couldn’t have asked for nicer staff. There are lots of options for excursions. We ended up booking 3 tours in advance with Andrei @ ConchalFun (not affiliated with the hotel, but they do collect you from the lobby). Ended up really enjoying all three tours, and the tour guides were just knowledgeable, friendly, hardworking guys.
