The honest pros and cons

DahriW on Mar 19, 2025

Let’s start with the awesome… Amazing service here. The people that work here treat you like family. They all seem happy and they really made our week. Great location in mazatlan, quick ride from the airpo...rt as well. Balcony faced the ocean, view was excellent. Beach was nice and clean. The pools were pristine. No lack of lounge chairs, we never had to race down at the crack of dawn to ensure we got one. We took our time! Food was very good, particularly the Italian restaurant. Air con worked well. Lots of hot water and pressure was good. The not so goods: WORST BED I’ve EVER slept on in my life. And I’ve stayed in some real cruddy no-tell motels in my life. It was like sleeping on a metal grid with a sheet over it. I ended up sleeping on the couch, sadly it was better but not by much. It was so bad I actually have bruises on my hips. For this reason alone I wouldn’t return. The room really needed a deep down cleaning as well as some items needed straight up replacing. There was dirt in the corners, the closet floor was filthy. The mirror looked like it should’ve been replaced 20 years ago. This resort says rooms have kitchenettes, but they don’t. Rooms don’t even have a bar fridge with basic drink service. This is ridiculous to me, it’s a very basic service on these types of vacations. I was able to get a mini fridge delivered to the room to at least keep water bottles cold. There is an 80 peso delivery charge for room service. It’s ridiculous to be nickel and dimed when you pay for an all inclusive vacation. Service was fast and food was hot though. Don’t like the towel deal though, sometimes one extra towel is just needed!

Overall very enjoyable time. Very good food and the drinks were good too. Nice big clean rooms.

We really enjoyed the smaller size of this resort. The grounds are very nice and the 2 pools in separate locations make it easy to get away from the pool activity noise if you want to. Rooms are very spaci...ous and clean. The food served in the restaurants was good to great. We did not enjoy the Mexican as much. The Asian was too cold in the evening but the food was good. They could use some plexiglass on the beach side to help with the wind. Cilantro’s was very good and had several choices. Angelo’s was very good and we went there twice in the week. No buffet in the evenings. The drinks at the pool bar were mostly good. One bar tender made the slushy drinks too runny but we were happy with the choices of alcohol for all inclusive. The bar in Cilantro’s made very good drinks. One thing I really think this hotel could use is a little coffee shop. Staff were all hard working and friendly. They will exchange Canadian at the front desk but the rate was 11 pecos per dollar compared to 14 at the bank before we left. Across from the front entrance there are several little shops, restaurants, pharmacies and an Oxo. We picked up some tshirts, vanilla and little souvenirs there. Unfortunately while we were there the weather was quite chilly in the mornings and evenings so the ocean water was also very cold. I would go in December if I went again. Staff and Canadians who spend winters there all said this has been their coldest winter in a long time (15 years one guy said). There are not a lot of bandos on this stretch of beach and suited us just fine. Nice walking beach to the right as there are no hotels next door and to the left you could walk a long way in front of hotels and restaurants. There were always chairs to be had at the beach and pools. Buses are easy to access if you go left out the front door and to the corner. 13 pecos takes you all the way down the Malecón where we visited the old town and the market. Interesting to walk around. We did visit the aquarium which we really enjoyed. We will probably go back because there is so much more we would like to see and this resort suited us.
