Jamaican Rootz, the beachfront restaurant, will undergo a complete renovation from mid-May through September 2025. This area will be securely boarded off to minimize visibility and disruption.
To ensure a continued high level of service during this period:
- The Jerk Hut will offer extended hours and enhanced menu options
- Calypzo’s menu will temporarily include guest favorites from Jamaica Rootz
- Mobile grills and carts will be added as needed to supplement dining options
All efforts will be made to minimize any impact to guests during this time.

You can’t go wrong with Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica. We were there for five nights to celebrate my sister‘s 50th birthday. We had a total of 14 people with us. The resort was amazing from the time we... arrived. As a World of Hyatt member we were taken to a special area to check in and given Special bracelets to identify us as World of Hyatt members. Not sure the significance of the bracelets, but it was a good conversational piece in the pool. Because not very many people had them on. We were also instantly asked to make our dinner reservations for the 5 nights we were there. I’m not going to lie. This was a little overwhelming at first because we had just arrived. However, it was a necessity to make your dinner reservations for every night of the week because some of the restaurants are not open certain days. So I was glad that our hostess Insisted on this taking place. We had a swim up suite in the main building. This was the first time I had ever stayed in a swim up suite and now I am sold. I don’t think I will ever stay in a normal room again. The swim up suite allows you to get to the main pool. However, you do have to get out of the main pool to get to the pool bar. The one thing that impressed me the most was their open communication with an issue the resort had the day we arrived. There was no hot water available in any of the rooms on the day we arrived. However, later that evening the room we stayed in received hot water. However, the adjacent buildings did not have hot water for two nights. What I think is important to say is the resort did everything they possibly could to accommodate the needs of the guests during this unforeseen issue with the water. They were in constant communication with us and they were able to move my son to the main building after two nights. It did not stop there. They refunded me 30% for the nights that my son‘s room was without hot water And they issued us a $300 resort credit. I understand that things happen and we want every trip we take to be perfect. I will say that this did not hinder any of the enjoyment or atmosphere that Hyatt Zilara had to offer. But their constant checking in and offering the discount and the credit was just Above and beyond. It was never expected. Maybe hoped there might be some compensation for the inconvenience. Best places that we ate were Di Rosa Italian cuisine FuZion the Asian Grill. I would highly recommend anyone that wants to take a trip to Jamaica and do an all-inclusive that you would pick this resort. We were not much for the nightlife however, the younger ones that were with us that stayed up each night, said that the karaoke and the piano bar were amazing.

Great overall experience. Truly surprised by the great people and hospitality. We stayed on the Adult side, Zilara, but access to the Ziva resort was easy and just as much fun. Adult side is newer, rooms w...ere nice and spacious. Pool Bar was lively all day long. Noticed smart travelers brought their empty Stanley's/Yeti's for water and metal straws - great idea! The bar uses paper straws. Also noticed people packed cheap floats for lounging in pool - great idea. Flat easy property to get around. Plenty of golf carts to help you as well.
