Arrived at Sandals 2/25/25. Nice ride from the airport by Marcus. Great conversation about the island and Sandals. When we got to the hotel our butler met us there. Since we have been to this resort befo...re we declined the tour and he took us directly to our room. We asked in advance for gin and tonic and lemon drop martinis in the room. He had all the ingredients there waiting for us. Dominique explained all the restaurants he had reserved for us for the week. We explained to Dominique that we would like to have a chair with an umbrella at the pool. He reserved a chair everyday for us. He also had a cooler at our chairs filled with water. You can request anything you want in the coolers. Dominique and Laise where both great butlers who could read their guests and give you all the space you needed. The grounds were beautiful, pool was great. The people at the water sports were very nice. I went kayaking daily where I spotted a turtle and stink ray. Took out the hobby cat (sale boat) once. Overall the people there were very informative and very friendly. The food at the italian place and Butches the steak place were the best restaurants. Also the buffet breakfast had a lot of food to choose from and thats where we ate everyday. We did not take advantage of the night time activities. We started our days early with walking and playing pickle ball. Overall the experience at Sandals Royal Bahamian was relaxing, great service, and beautiful. Marcus picked us up at the end of the vaca and took us back to the airport.....until next time.
A (Mostly) Great Experience at Sandals Royal Bahamian

My husband and I just got back from a wonderful week at Sandals Royal Bahamian. We are Emerald level with Sandal Resorts and just received our free week for our next Sandals stay, so we have been loyal to ...the Sandals brand for a while now. This was our first time to Royal Bahamian. Our room was the East Bay Honeymoon Beachfront Butler Suite. There are many things that this resort did very well and some things that could be improved (as with every vacation location). Here is a synopsis of our thoughts. Out of ALL the Sandals resorts that we have visited, this was our best experience with check in and check out. They did an amazing job. After airport immigration, we went directly to the Sandals lounge and waiting only about 10 minutes for our transfer. The Rolls Royce transfer was amazing. From the airport, we had Ricky Ricardo as our driver and on the way back to the airport we had another driver but didn’t catch his name. He had a jar of Grey Poupon mustard though ??. Both were fantastic. It was a quick 15 minutes’ drive, and we were at Sandals. We were met by one of our butlers, Kevinson, who gave us a tour of the property and then he took us directly to our room where our bags were waiting. We didn’t have to check in anywhere and there was no waiting. We felt truly whisked into paradise. Checking out was just as seamless. We have NOT had this experience at any other resort (even with butler level) and so we appreciated how special this was. Sandals aways has you fill out preferences online before your arrival. It has been a joke with my husband and I that when we arrive, it is obvious that those preferences have not been read. Not the case at this Sandals! Kevinson was on the ball! To his credit, he had read everything and was prepared for our arrival. Excellent job, Royal Bahamian! We have never been able to have dinner reservations for the night of arrival, but Kevinson got us a spot at our requested restaurant. Our room wasn’t overly large, but our balcony was larger than any other resort we have visited. The cushioned chairs and table made it a very comfortable place, and we spent hours watching the crystal waters and boats coming and going. The only thing that could have improved it would have been to have foot stools. Our butler team was the best we have experienced at any other resort (we have always reserved butler lever except for one time). This team had no weak link. They were all excellent! From Kevinson’s wonderful reception and great care to the extreme professionalism of Sterling, to the friendliness and kindness of Taja, all three made our week very special. They were there for every request we had. We had one windy and cool day that Sterling was proactive to find us a place at the village pool out of the wind. Every afternoon, they had a cheese plate and a gluten-free cake waiting for us in the room (which was the best gluten-free chocolate cake I have ever had). These butlers should make Sandals Royal Bahamian very proud! We loved the offshore island. The beaches there are definitely better. We went 4 out of the 7 days we were there. The lunches were good at the island restaurant. We were served by Tasha and Colleen. Both were friendly, welcoming, and offered quick service. There are always things that could be improved, and so we offer these ideas in hopes of improving the experience of others. When butler guests go to the island, they give up their butler service. We knew this when we went to the island. However, it would be very nice to give butler guests a better experience with getting to the island. As mentioned, we went to the island 4 times. We arrived at the dock about 40 minutes early to make sure we could make it on the first boat. Two of those days we had very bad experiences that had to do with other guests. Although we had arrived early, there were other guests that came at the last minute and pushed their way onto the boat ahead of those that had been waiting. Once, I felt as I would be pushed into the ropes of the dock as I was shoved out of the way. Upon arrival at the island, there is a mad rush to find a spot. It would be WONDERFUL for there to be a boat just for butler guests who want to go over and get set up before others can go. This would be a way of giving some privilege to those who paid for the butler service they can’t use on the island. Also, it would be helpful to have some sort of que lines for all guests, so that aggressive guests can’t bully their way to the front at the last minute. This would help even the non-butler guests who were also waiting for a long time and are pushed out of the way. I know this is a complaint about other guests, but Sandals could make provisions to help the ones who are trying to be polite. We believe this one issue is what will keep us from returning to Sandals Royal Bahamian. As much as we loved the island, we found it very stressful getting there. Stress should not be something that should go in a sentence about vacations! We found most of the food average. Our favorite restaurant was Butch’s. We went twice and enjoyed it both times. For one of the times, our waitress was Omaneque. She was fabulous! Some of the service at the other evening restaurants were hit and miss. Several times we would ask the wait staff for a glass of wine/water or something else and we would never receive it. Obviously, they were all very busy, and not receiving the item requested didn’t spoil our time. Getting drinks at the bars on the island was very slow. We sometimes waited up to 20 minutes to receive them. The bartenders kept busy and moving, but with all the different specialty drinks that were being ordered, it just took time. One final note, the nightly entertainment at the resort occurs beachfront and so being in a beachfront room made it quite loud until 11:00 PM when it moved to one of the bars. This isn’t such a big deal if you like staying out, but for us, we’d prefer to listen to the waves of the ocean while on our beachfront balcony. We did mention this to the management via “Gina”, which is basically their WhatsApp account, and they did tone it down a bit which was a nice accommodation. All in all, this was perhaps our favorite Sandals resort. Unfortunately, the boat transfers to/from the island are a deal breaker for us. So unless they can figure out some way to improve the transfers and perhaps accommodate butler level guests somehow, we’ll be going elsewhere. We will carry many wonderful memories of our time at this resort. Thank you to those who made it special!
