We love Sandals

My husband and I have traveled now to three sandals resorts. St. Lucia, St. Vincent and now the Royal Bahamian. I want to particularly shout out two playmakers in the entertainment department: Static and... Giovanni. Those two played a HUGE role in making our vacation (and so many others) so much better. When we first arrived- they immediately made an effort to get to know us. They both did not forget our names the whole trip, and went out of their way to say hi and make us feel at home every time they passed us. We played volleyball with them as well, and needless to say they were the life of the party. Not only this- but when it came to nighttime entertainment they both knew how to get the party going. They had people up and dancing every night they were working, making the overall ambiance of the place so much more lively and fun. As with any place you go- the people are oftentimes just as important as the food or the facilities even. When you stay you are able to take a boat ferry over to a private island also known as “discovery island”. Here is a very peaceful part of the resort. If your priority is getting a good beach chair or enjoying a more private experience- this may be your favorite part. There is much more beach available and plenty more seating. Also located on the island is a spa, restaurant, and pool. My husband and I loved the Seafood risotto and grouper fingers. Definitely recommend a visit. The ladies at the spa were also incredible. We were able to get a 60 minute massage and from the booking to the end of the experience we received NOTHING but kindness and professionalism. As far as restaurants go- make reservations for the ones that require them as soon as you arrive. DO NOT WAIT. The reservations book up insanely fast, and if you don’t have a reservation it will likely be quite a wait for dinner at another place. We enjoyed the food and drinks at all the restaurants we ate at! In comparison to the other Sandals resorts we have previously been to- I hate to say it but I did notice a lot more employees appeared apathetic. Again- there were VERY many kind employees (for example the ladies at the sweets food truck). But for me, we ran into just as many seemingly disinterested employees as very enthusiastic ones. Maybe my expectations were too high from previous trips. You can just always tell when people love what they do- and that makes a difference in the guest experience . Overall we were very happy with our stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian. And again- thank you to Static and Giovanni for helping make our trip memorable.
Good not great for the Price!

The resort was clean, friendly staff, good food and an overall decent stay. First off for the price compared to other all inclusives I’ve been to in the past this was far more expensive than most without “...extras” or room upgrades. The resort is clean but looks outdated and it could use a remodel to update. The Spa was AMAZING and one of the best features on our visit. I will say both food and drinks are a little more appealing than other all inclusives as far as taste and quality. A major complaint that our group had (along with others after speaking to guests) the restaurants that required reservations were all booked for the entire 5 days we were visiting. The staff tried to accommodate us but offered a 9pm dinner seating which is by far too late. Some of the other guests were complaining about the booked restaurants as well and decided to seek local dining places outside the resort( which defeats the all inclusive purpose). Overall, the stay was good, I enjoyed the weather and Bahamas in general, but I think for the price I would look elsewhere and Sandals needs a revamp on appearance and prices!
