Be aware what's underneath the beautiful facade

Written whilst still on site. We came with high expectations due to cost and previous visit to Sandals 28 years ago, in St Lucia. The location is beautiful and cleanliness on site really good. Restaurants ...varied and food excellent. We have a sea view balcony room which is ideal, but with air-conditioning switched off there is an annoying background and continuous rattling noise. Bathroom ok but finish could be better. Pools and poolside beds excellent. Plenty of towels. Staff are excellent and courteous but service is only on the surface and so many times we did not get what we had hoped. It took 2 trips to club reception to get pillows changed due to a feather allergy. In identifying feather pillows we had to remove covers and found some very dirty. Providing a credit card imprint not done on arrival so had to make a separate visit, only to be called 4 days later to come and provide imprint again. Inconsistent housekeeping. Items not restocked on many occasions eg coffee, milk and minibar. The removal or cleaning of used glasses and coffee machine. Restaurants could be busy and most very loud but that could be guest issue. The booking of tables needs to be done on arrival if you want to get in. Plenty of staff in Restaurants but they are sometimes not used effectively. Person taking name at door, also laying tables causing bottleneck and longer than necessary waits. As an example of service, we had breakfast in La Plume. We sat down at 8am and placed order within 5 minutes, receiving coffee straight away, however food didn't arrive until 9.10am and items missing from order. We only ordered yoghurt and eggs benedict. Overall enjoying stay. Just to add on last night we had made a reservation via club concierge for a meal at steak restaurant but when we turned up they couldn't find our reservation. Not a good end.
Disappointing. Butler service was a scam.

Do NOT sign up for butler service. We ended up doing all our own booking through the app. No one offered an explanation of what they butler service was there for. Only told that if we need anything to call... and then handed a cell phone to use. We were not informed of any of the ‘amenities’ Found out from other guests…on our last night there!!! Very poorly done. We will not be returning to any Sandals resort. We feel scammed! The daily itinerary listed activities with no explanation of what they would involve, the off resort excursions were expensive. For example the Blue Lagoon excursion was family oriented Why would Sandals offer this when it is advertised as an adults only resort?? We went and found it crowded with families and the only activity was a ‘water park’ for kids only. I don’t want to be completely negative. Our room was nice, the restaurants were fine, not extraordinary.
