Amazing service! Johnoi and Kevaughn at the beach poolside bar make the best Amaretto sours and BBCs (Baileys, banana, coconut crème). Sheldon is awesome. Dandre- assistant bar manager- was very interesting to talk to and is doing an amazing job because the drinks are delicious. The dive staff are fantastic. Kamar, Rusty, Bancroft- great dive leaders. Ike is a fantastic instructor, if you want to learn how to dive. They make you feel very comfortable and safe. The entire dive staff is amazing. Winston is a great boat captain and takes good care of the divers while aboard the dive boat. We had a great time. We stayed on the beachside part of the resort because we wanted to be closer to the dive shop/boat. But you can take a quick transport up to the top part of the resort if you want to go to the pool up there or any of the restaurants. Jaymar at Kimonos was really fun. We’ve been here twice and have enjoyed it both times. We have really enjoyed getting to know the staff. They are really fun. A very fun vacation.
Relaxing week at Sandals Ochi

We have just spent a week at Sandals Ochi, our 2nd visit to this resort and our 4th visit to Jamaica. It was our 6th visit to a Sandals resort. Whilst we had a very enjoyable holiday, I would no longer class Sandals as 5*. The restaurants certainly do not serve world class cuisine as advertised. Many other hotels have now upped their game and are now better than Sandals. The steaks we had in two of the restaurants were inedible. Our favourite restaurant was the Italian, Valentino’s, closely followed by the French restaurant, Le Gourmond. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the gardeners work really hard keeping everywhere looking beautiful. Our Butlers were very good, however we are not high maintenance and mainly used them for lifts down to the restaurants in the evening. There are lots of cats on site and this clearly helps control vermin, however I think Sandals should take more responsibility for the health and welfare of the cats, ensuring they are neutered and vaccinated, therefore keeping numbers in check, I asked our Butler about this and he said Sandals didn’t do anything for the cats. Perhaps some watering and feeding stations would help? The pools are amazing and some days we had the smaller ones to ourselves, and we never had a problem getting a sun bed. Weather was perfect all week too. All in all we did enjoy our break but would have to think long and hard about a future visit?
