Great Universal base

grandlapin (Rossendale, United Kingdom) on Mar 22, 2025

We stayed at Aventura hotel for our second week in Florida. We were in a standard room for 2 adults and one child. The room was adequately sized for us and our luggage. The bathroom had a large shower and ...toilet and the sink was in the bedroom area behind a screen. We ate in the hotel a few times. There was a good selection of food available in the food court but we opted for Starbucks most mornings as it was quick and easy. We enjoyed a swim in the pool most days after our time in the parks. The lifeguards were the most attentive I’ve ever seen at a hotel! We used the boat at Sapphire Falls to get to the Universal theme parks as found it quicker and a nicer journey than the buses. Although handy to be able to get a bus back when the boats aren’t running in bad weather. My son loved the hotel robot and we ordered food to the room a couple of times hoping the robot would bring it but it didn’t. The iPad in the room was great for accessing reception services. We also streamed movies to the TV in the evenings which was good. We didn’t eat at the rooftop bar but we did use it to watch a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral and there was a great view. We were there for the Boeing starliner launch and we went up to the roof but it was closed! So we had to watch from the car park roof instead. The hotel was conveniently located for the parks and International Drive shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay at Aventura hotel. Would definitely stay again if we came back to Universal.

Great hotel, but USD cost to CDN for food/parking is crazy high!

Laura B on Mar 05, 2025

Booked this hotel through Universal website direct and I was not disappointed. I am giving them a 5 star based on what we paid versus the overall experience. Since we got such a great price (versus what is... listed), I was completely satisfied. Clean, bright, and beautiful rooms with enough storage for the week were there. Was able to keep the room fresh looking. Attendants and all personnel were spot on. Knowledgeable, quick, friendly and efficient. My only complaint is that, as a Canadian, I found the onsite costs for parking (insane), coffee and food (outrageous), and drinks were not good. Offerings were either very, very expensive with the exchange rate, or unattainable. They charge $32 USD per night for parking which is about $48CDN. That is RIDICULOUS. To Canadians I would recommend this hotel, but go to Costco before going there and get some groceries beforehand, otherwise your daily costs will exceed the actual cost of the hotel room itself. Super convenient, right next door you can catch the water taxi to Universal, or any other hotel. Loved this.
