First Visit to Vallarta

Daniel (dream theater) provides excellence service by the pool. We had an incident at the pool on our first day where people accusing us of “stealing” their seats. They verbally attacked us and called us names and Daniel was able to handle it with care. He has been making sure we have everything we need since day one that we arrived. Manny& Gregory make delicious drinks 10/10 would recommend and super nice. Kevin, George, Jorge, Manny and Michelle are amazing with entertainment and super friendly. The staff here is amazing would definitely come back because of them!
Nice but small

Let me start by saying we really enjoyed our vacation. Had it not been for the issues at the pool, I would have rated it a 5. Check in was quick and simple and our room was ready when we go there. They do require wrist bands but one plus to the wrist band is that it also serves as your room key. Check out was also very easy. Siri checked us out and made it a good experience. The Sun Bar is a great place to have a drink and chill and chat. There is also a pool table there and a stage for music and lots of great seating inside and out. Catarino the bartender there is amazing. He was super nice and helpful plus he makes great drinks. Vivo is a waitress there and very attentive and sweet. Great service all around. The restaurants had great food and while the waiters and waitresses were nice, the service is slow. If you are not in a hurry, you will enjoy the experience. The Italian restaurant is on the beach and has a great view. The food at the Asian restaurant is delicious. The buffets were ok - just not a lot of variety. Mosquitos are a major issue in the mornings at both the pool and beach. Just remember to take bug spray. The beach is great and there are palapas. The water is calm and cold. There were warnings about jellyfish but we never saw any. Another huge plus is there was NO seaweed. The water is not blue like it is in the Carribean but it is still nice. Our one major complaint is that they did not consistently enforce the rule about removing a towel that was holding a chair after 40 minutes if the guest is not present. (Just an FYI - If we did not go down and put towels on chairs by 7am, there were no chairs available by 10.) On our 4th day we were honestly gone more than 40 minutes and when we returned, our towels had been taken off our chairs. When we returned to our chairs to find the towels missing I went and talked to Daniel. He said he would try and help us find new chairs but basically disappeared for the next 2 hours. Obviously we never got more chairs. We pointed out to Daniel that day and also the next day that chairs were being held and users were not present and this was his response - oh well, sorry I am not doing my job as well as I should. The following is just one example of what we observed. The same day our towels were removed, I started watching 2 chairs that had a towel on each and a flip flop on each and saw that they had not been touched from 2:30 until 6:30 when we went for dinner. Another example happened the next morning. Every chair was held with a towel but there were approx. 5 people in one pool and 3 in the other. Obviously the people were not present but nobody was taking the towels off the chairs. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice. If you want to normal balcony make sure you read the room descriptions. Many of the rooms have "french balconies." I did not know what that was and luckily we booked a normal balcony. (A french balcony is one that you can stand on but does not have chairs. ) Most margaritas and mixed drinks taste differently than expected. Not sure if it is the mixes they use or the alcohol. We stuck with mimosas, wine, beer and palomas and enjoyed our adult beverages. The shows in the evening were nice but not elaborate like what we are used to from going to Cancun/Playa del Carmen. We saw a Bruno Mars tribute show, MIchael Jackson tribute show, a hard rock tribute band and they had a casino night. All in all it was a great vacation.
