Please note the following renovation schedule for Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta for 2024 and 2025:
May 06, 2024 – January 09, 2025: North Tower room upgrades will be taking place. Some dust and noise are to be expected from 10AM-6PM. This is the second phase of renovation for the north wing main tower.
July 01 – October 16, 2024: Kid’s Club will be closed. Guests will not be affected. All kids’ activities will take place outside by the pool and terrace at Melanzanne.
July 01-December 15, 2024: Front Desk and lobby area will be renovated; the work will be done at night. There will be a temporary check-in desk located in the front lobby during this time.
August 05- December 7, 2024: Repair roof structure of walkways. Please note there are two walkways to connect to the main building, only one walkway will be closed, and guests will not be affected.
October 8-November 23, 2024: The Pool Bar at the main pool will be upgraded and some dust and noise should be expected during the day. A provisional portable bar will be set in the pool area and 4 other pools will be open.
September 17, 2024- March 28, 2025: New Italian restaurant concept at Melanzanne. The service will be offered at the Pureza Restaurant.
Please note these plans are subject to change, and the dedicated hotel crew is working diligently to minimize disruptions throughout the renovation period.

Overall great experience with some minor issues

Overall our family had a great experience; the beach and pools were amazing, that's where we spent most of our time. However, there were a few issues for a 4.5 star hotel. We arrived around 6pm, escorted to Club tower, then proceeded to check-in process. There's no place to sit at check-in for Club tower. No one offered us a drink on arrival... I was thirsty, so had to walk over to the bar to get a beer. To my disappointment, the club tower only has XX beer, nothing else! I had a much better check-in experience at Barcelo premium lounge in Cancun. I have 2 kids who want to play in the wet sand building sand castles all day. The hotel has no ability to provide an umbrella which I could place near the wet sand. All the umbrellas are fixed in one spot. After asking around, eventually the guy selling wooden surf boards on the beach got the lifeguard to position an umbrella for me. I gave him a good tip & asked him to bring it every day for the next 13 days. The lack of a drinks menu at any of the bars is super annoying. One type of beer (XX) for the entire hotel! unacceptable for a 4.5 star hotel! In Club tower, there's a nespresso machine, but there's no instructions in English. I can't count how many wasted coffee pods went in there. It's simple, just add some English instructions.. or even a picture instruction. It's not obvious how to use that coffee machine. I had exactly 2 pods of nespresso coffee pods in my room. Every hotel I've ever been to has a lot more coffee options. No toothpaste in the bathroom amenities? Setting up weddings right next to the only warm kids pool (the one in front of regular tower), and then asking all the parents & kids to exit the pool because of said wedding... that's unacceptable! I paid to bring my kids to that pool. Setup your weddings elsewhere! That's ridiculous to kick kids & parents out of the only warm kids pool mid day. Speaking about weddings, the hotel is suppose to be kid friendly, but some of the music played at the weddings is hardly kid friendly. (Lots of swearing in the music one night). I don't need my kids hearing that! Lastly, I wanted to boogie board every day. Staying at club tower, I had to walk all the way to regular tower every day to get a boogie board from Kevin (great guy by the way). I'm paying a lot extra to stay in Club tower, so why not have boogie boards available near club tower?
Ziva “ Our home away from home!”

We had an amazing trip to Ziva for our 13 th visit!! We are always treated like ROYALTY! Since we we opted out of getting the swim up room we had hoped for in the main tower, we got a free upgrade to the penthouse, given to us by Jorge Ayala, and the new general manager Arthur Viot with amazing support from Beatriz our friend and concierge!!?? We had such great support and service , including chocolate strawberries , bucket of champagne, special dinners orchestrated by captain Jose Luis of Pureza , we were spoiled by chef, introduced to kitchen staff, etc This special treatment happened twice!! We had group dinners with friends and special dinner reservations! Armando and Suzy Rubio went out of their way to get us everything we needed! The new general manager is incredible!! Always took the time to listen to us and wanted our opinion as returning guests( like listening about bringing Italian full lunch service back!) Travis our Gnome is always well loved by staff. Jorge in the gym is one of my favourite staff . He greets me every morning with hugs and smiles and helps me with any equipment issues. Mariza and Efrain were favourite beach servers, too. The staff work so hard for the guests with smiles on their faces!!! Miquel our fav bartender, Hector and Ivan in the buffet who welcome us every year to our “ Home away from Home??” Again , we have to mention Beatriz as she always comes through to us as an incredible concierge! Jorge and Arthur you gave us a once of a lifetime experience in the penthouse for five nights which we shared with other Ziva friends we meet annually. Also, our great doormen Rodrigo and Ese who always are there to help and move us to our rooms. Izeal and others in the coffee shop, girls in the sports bar you are all wonderful. ( can’t find all the names!!) Yes, Ziva is undergoing construction and upgrades but it has to be done ( it will be done SOON) and they are doing their best to make Ziva even better.., it is the best private resort beach in PV.
