First few days, some minor issues but nothing you couldn't move past. This is an older property so if you pick this resort be understanding of that. Still nice sized rooms, but the beach is terrible. You ...can definitely find options for food but dinner choices were the best food I've had so far. Lunch left ALOT to be desired. Night 2 a family with a screaming kid moved in next to us. As a parent you try to be empathetic but this kid was literally screaming all night and this afternoon. Went to the front desk to see if they could move me and unfortunately no more rooms in my category are avaialble today so I can't change rooms until possibly tomorrow afternoon. Basically one day before I leave. They are going to send someone to "talk" to the parents but honestly the manger at the front desk seemed very nonchalant. I would be open to trying another newer Dreams property but I would not recommend this particular one. As a travel agent I'm a stickler for customer service and this incident was a let down.
Smaller Family Dreams resort

Our family had a great time at Dreams Aventuras and would recommend it to others who are looking for a smaller calm resort. We found the resort to be clean and comfortable while meeting our expectations. ... They were in the process of renovating the Mexican restaurant so it did slightly limit some dinner spots however they shifted a night to the world café to make up for it. The food was all pretty good and we always found something we liked at every meal. The Coco Cafe although small was one of our favorite spots as well as they always had great deserts or coffee! The pools were definitely on the shallow side maybe 3' deep but we're great for relaxing in. The little cove area was nice due to the rock barrier as it meant for much calmer water and even kayaking with the family. The daily activities were fairly repetitive but our daughter really liked the bracelet making class. The shows were all fun and entertaining for the entire family .
