Ok but could be better

Just returned from a week at this resort with my husband. This is the second visit at this resort with the first being in 2022. Weather was gorgeous. Beach was great and the workers were out early every m...orning to clean the beach. Our room was great and the bed comfy. Rooms hadn’t changed since our visit in 2022. Since our previous visit the resort has exchanged hands so we were excited to see what or if there was any difference and there definitely is but don’t think for the better. The lovely Mexican murals that once were are no longer there. The beautiful hand painted coconuts that lined the pathways are no more. 2 restaurants MIA Casa and klay talay you now have to book reservations for which didn’t bother us but as soon as we arrived at the resort we tried every day to book a reservation for Mia casa as that was one of our favourites at our previous visit but we was told it was all full everyday but clearly if you walk past it’s almost empty everyday or we could get a reservation if we brought a expensive bottle of wine or tequila. We had dinner at the gourmet pub which was terrible and ended up going back to our room and getting room service. We had dinner at La Carreta which was ok but nothing too special. Everything we ate just lacked taste which was very disappointing. We had the dinner buffet at seaside market which was nice and they did the best margaritas in my opinion but found the staff very rude. Slamming our glasses on the table did not sit well with me. We did the beach buffet at the Mexican night and the fire show which were ok also. Just be careful of the dealers hiding in the shadows asking if you want any Mar iguana or cocaine. I believe we got offered 2kilos for the price of 1. Our room didn’t get cleaned for 2 days which was really disappointing. The whole experience this time just felt so different. We will come back to Mexico but unfortunately not back to this resort.

Fantastic food, bar drinks, great service from all staff members. A special shout out to Alfredo from the front desk. A stellar ambassador for El Dorado. Helped us several times and was professional, kn...owledgeable and made us feel very welcome.
