The best service I got was from Carlos Quintal at the Grill restaurant. I was not feeling well and was not going to order anything to eat. He was kind and showed concern, offered me a chicken broth and tea... for my stomach, and made me feel taken care of. Thank you Carlos! Another thing is the beach, its amazing, warm water and just the right amount of waves, the beach is full of chairs with lots of shade and they remove the weed every day. Another thing I thought was very thoughtful was having a courtesy reservation at one of their restaurants the night we arrived, since we couldn’t have booked it in advance. Overall great experience and would come back.

We had the most excellent service at the Grill. Carlos Quintal went above and beyond in serving us and making us feel special. He saw to our every need. He checked on us many times. The food was excellent.... The atmosphere was nice, as we had a cool oceanfront breeze and view.

Just wrapped up another very pleasant week at the Royal Hideaway Playacar. Service was excellent, as always and our building concierge , Sucel Sanchez , went far above and beyond to ensure our stay was pe...rfect! We’ve been vacationing at this resort as well as the allegro Playacar for many years- the entire staff as well as the resort amenities never fail to impress.

My wife and I (5th visit) along with two other couples (2nd visit for one and 1st for other) had a wonderful time at the RH. We last visited two years ago and decided it was time to move on. My wife follow...s friends of RH on Facebook and witnessed an improvement in reviews over the past 6-8 months so we decided to return. Although the food still lacks compared to previous ownership, it was the best we’ve experienced under Barcelo. The property layout is great, the beach was beautiful and, as usually, staff is friendly and accommodating. A special Thank You to Alexia for making our pool time special. We look forward to seeing everyone next year, if not sooner.

Had a great time at this resort. The food was delicious at all the different restaurants. Lots of activities to day daily and Alexia and Carlos keep it upbeat and fun each day. Tonight we went to the grill... restaurant and Carlos was on top of everything making sure the night was perfect and that we loved our 3V wine. Antonio Lopez was our waiter here and at Spices restaurant. He is always attentive to your needs and made our experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this resort.
