Always a great vacation at the Royal Hideaway, great atmosphere, good food, an exceptional staff and very beautiful grounds. Not a party resort, but a great place to relax, have good food and meet great people. We've been to many resorts in this area, but we always return to this beautiful resort.

My partner and I decided to celebrate our engagement at the Royal Hideaway Playacar, and it was the perfect choice for such a special occasion. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the resort's luxurious yet laid-back atmosphere. The location, tucked away in Playacar, offers the best of both worlds - peace and privacy with easy access to the vibrant life of Playa del Carmen. Our room was like a personal sanctuary; the decor was tasteful, and the balcony gave us breathtaking views of the gardens, making every morning coffee a moment to savor. The beach is simply a slice of paradise - we spent many hours lounging and swimming in those calm, turquoise waters. Dining here was a journey in itself. We loved how each restaurant offered something unique; the Mexican cuisine at the Ventanas was particularly memorable, authentic and beautifully presented. The service throughout our stay was top-notch - friendly, attentive, yet never intrusive. The staff made every meal feel like a special event. The infinity pool became our sanctuary during the day, where we could relax with a cocktail in hand, watching the horizon. The spa was another gem; the treatments were luxurious, and the therapists were skilled, leaving us feeling rejuvenated. We also appreciated the little touches - the nightly turndown service with chocolates on our pillows, the live music by the pool, and the variety of activities offered. The gym was a nice addition for those mornings when we felt like starting the day with a workout. Royal Hideaway Playacar isn't just a resort; it's an experience. It's where every moment feels crafted for romance and relaxation. We left with memories we'll cherish forever and are already planning our next visit. Rating: 5/5

This is our home away from home! A place we’ve been going for many years, where we are treated as family, from the entrance to the maid service and all in between! I really enjoyed my stay in Royal Hideaway Playacar. The beach, the room, all services and food were excellent.

RH is our home away from home. Our #MEXIHOME. We have enjoyed being guests of honor for so many trips that we lost count but never forget why. Service. Service. Service. ALWAYS win a smile, a hug, a heartfelt handshake that means everything to us. From the moment we arrive greeted by Uncle Arturo to our friends at the welcome desk and then the family greeting from our concierge Miss Karla and even our housekeeper Lupita - we know we are home. Over the past many many years, there has been absolutely NOTHING that Karla has not done or been willing to do. We want to take her home with us!!! Kinda want Lupita too. Add to this our amazing support team at each and every restaurant- each carefully and consistently ensuring that everything is perfecto! While Sam is dearly missed at breakfast- Miss Ana has been doing her thing every day. Waiting for our Miss Sabrina to see her at breakfast too. The others ladies at the hostess stand are terrific and do all they can to get you seated asap and enjoying your meal The wait staff is great. Look for David. Oscar. And of course our sweetheart Ariel. She makes the best iced coffee around. Our mexi-sushi chef Victoria Pech will go out of his way to please and it’s always appreciated. #chickenitzah. Miss Brenda will be there for anything you want to try. Ricardo too. Sam will ensure that your Ventanas experience is amazingly memorable and the new dinner items are scrumptious. Dont forget to save room for the chocoroll. Head upstairs for Italian delight and be greated by our Mexican movie star Adriana who runs the place like a well oiled machine. Be sure to try the chicken parm. Paparadelle. Bologna’s and never leave without the baked Alaska. Just watch Eduardo’s performance. Tons of footage of his flaming execution of this dish. Stop at Ventanas bar first. Let Carlos whip up a martini. Or head up to Spices bar and have Carlos make whatever he suggests- trust me., it will be great. #minibeer. Same at Allegria bar first try the Tequila Cream. And after dinner enjoy an Agavarro on ice. We were amazed and delighted with the fantastic production that Marta and Adriana put in for the Christmas show in the Royal Theatre. Talent was spectacular and food was as best as we could have asked for. Special turkey roll up and all the sides was a real treat. There are all sorts of reasons to continually return to the same place multiple times a year EVERY year and it’s no just the beauty of the well manicured resort. It’s not just amazing and tasty food. It’s not just the sparkling pools and the pristine beach. It’s the staff. These team members are our family and we love to be here with them. We can literally go anywhere in the world- but. We come to RH. And when we are here. We are MEXIHOME.
