Very old, dated, felt dirty

travelsforthefood on Sep 28, 2024

I expected much better out of my stay at the Hyatt Regency Toronto. The positive: the front desk staff was extremely kind and welcoming. The negative: the room (and everything starting from the gross old carpeting in the hallways) was terrible. The carpet felt dirty and old, with distinct staining (that looked like mold) in the corner near the bathroom. The bathroom was small and dated. The bed was uncomfortable. There was a weird random mini fridge plugged in with an exposed cord that looked like it belonged in a college dorm. I would not return or recommend this hotel.

Overpriced for a shabby hotel

RichRatesBoozers (Kenilworth, United Kingdom) on Sep 26, 2024

We were booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon package - unbeknownst to us it is a minimum of £500 per night - there is no way on this earth that this hotel is worth that type of money. We were checked in by Gwen who to be fair, was very helpful but made an extra effort to suggest he had left a surprise in the room for us which, we were initially grateful for - strawberries coated in chocolate He congratulated us on our anniversary - it was our honeymoon But we were given room 1450 which turns out to be next door to a mechanical room, with a generator operating 24/7. I re contacted Gwen regarding the noise who without any hesitation (which surprised me and made me think that this room has been complained about before) moved us to room 1951. This also turned out to be a very noisy room - someone was using the exit stairs all night, causing our ill fitting room door to clatter and in turn, caused the wardrobe light to flick on and off All of this on top of a low continuous droning noise that it seems the upper rooms are prone to. After a disturbed nights sleep, we spoke with Alan on the front desk who turned out to be most unhelpful. ‘Come back at 1pm and I’ll have sorted a new room for you’ he stated Alan made no notes of the issues we had raised but said that he would speak to the manager about them We arrive back at 1.15 ( to give Alan some extra time ) to be greeted by Deep ( front office manager - not general manager ) who asked what the issues were ( Alan obviously had not told him ) I repeated these again to him where he said he would sort out another room for us and that the cleaner was ‘just checking it was ok’ 45 minutes later I had to ask for Deep again to enquire what the cleaner was ‘checking’ and stated that this was causing stress and that he had not even offered us a drink whilst we waited Deep then ‘personally’ chased this up and we were given room 2008. Again, another room with a continual low droning noise room but giving up on any resolution, we stayed with this room for 2 nights as it was next to the suites so sleep was anticipated. Deep did provided us with a complimentary breakfast as an apology One dressing gown (for 2 guests) and no water was provided in the room No sleep was had again as one suite was occupied by screaming clapping women, another by a couple who seemed to not know how to use a door handle or who loved the sound of slamming doors in the early hours of the morning Genuinely avoid this hotel. Noisy, Overpriced, not staffed adequately enough and although this will fall on deaf ears, Hyatt - you’re a shambles

Mixed Experience: Comfort Issues in a Small Room

tanya335 on Sep 24, 2024

I stayed for six nights and found the room to be quite small, even with two double beds. I had to use one of the beds for my suitcase - there was no space for the luggage rack to go, making it hard to imagine two guests with two suitcases feeling comfortable. The bathroom counter was also limited in space, leaving little room for my belongings. Additionally, the doors did not have a soft-close feature, so they slammed shut, creating noise throughout my stay. I tried to close them gently to minimize disruption for others. Interestingly, my co-worker, who stayed for three nights in a king room, loved her experience. I didn’t see her room, but it made me wonder why our experiences were so different. Perhaps it was just my particular room, but being there for six nights gave me a chance to notice more of these details. The staff were very friendly and helpful thoughout the entire stay as well a the room was made up nicely each day. Serivce was top notch.

Coffe make appeared to have mold in it. Impossible to control the temperature of the room. Basically way to cold
