Too Many Small Issues Lead to Big Disappointment

We had overlooked several small issues that we could honestly had lived with, until a visit to the restaurant was the straw that broke the camel's back. Management will not honour Marriott website’s adver...tisements. We showed up for Happy Hour at 5:10 since Marriott website shows it lasts until 5:30. The server tells us happy hour is over, we politely tell her that the website advertises it until 5:30, showing her the website's page. Had it been advertised as 5:00, we would have come down from our room earlier. We get a “thanks for bringing that to our attention, we should change it”. The manager comes over, tells us they will not honour the prices because it’s an old menu that hasn't been changed on the website. We informed her that's essentially false advertisement, and she reiterated that we would not be receiving happy hour prices. We got up and left to go speak to the front desk and ask about the inconsistency. They said they'd tell a hotel manager, so we asked at what point we would be able to cut our stay short (here for 4 more nights). Was informed 72 hours, so now we are stuck here and being treated as though we are being difficult. Quite the opposite, in fact, as we have overlooked many other deficiencies until today’s restaurant incident. No Streaming services on TV, when you’re here for 8 nights for treatment and don’t have the luxury/energy of being up and about, it makes a much bigger difference than the hotel thinks. Ran out of toilet paper late at night since there was no extra roll, not enough towels, walls are thin, no dresser (in a two bedroom suite designed for families with long stays). Staff has not been the most kind or helpful; perhaps an American chain should be trying a little harder to keep its Canadian clientele. We don’t think we will be staying at a Marriott again any time soon after this experience, too many small issues that lead to big disappointment.

The excellent staff in this bustling hotel provide a very high level of service and personal attention to individual travelers which I highly value. Special thanks to the genial Club team whose genuine wa...rmth and kindness always shines through to make returning to this hotel quite special. The outside deck in the Club lounge is a treat. The rooms are very nicely appointed and clean, with many on higher floors offering spectacular city views. Always a pleasure!
