Our stay at Sol Beach Varadero was a mixed experience. On the plus side, the staff were absolutely fantastic. They made our stay memorable with their friendly and accommodating nature, always going out of ...their way to ensure we felt welcome. The beach was lovely, and the intimate, smaller setting of the hotel was a nice touch for anyone who enjoys a more private atmosphere. However, there were a few areas that left us disappointed. The rooms were tired and in need of some serious updating, and the sunbeds were uncomfortable and quite old. As a smaller hotel, it’s good if you're looking for intimacy, but in terms of facilities and comfort, it didn’t quite meet the mark. For vegans, the options were very limited, although the staff did their best to accommodate us. We did find that there were no tea bags other than camomile, no decaf coffee, and no dairy milk alternatives, which was frustrating. If you’re expecting a true 4-star experience, I’d advise lowering your expectations – the hotel felt more like a 3-star. Overall, the hotel is quite tired and in need of a refresh. We made the decision to leave as didn't feel comfortable. We also had a massage during our stay, which was good, but it wasn’t the full hour as promised. Mine lasted 50 minutes, and my partner’s was only 45 minutes, which was disappointing. The entertainment was enjoyable, but sitting on the pool beds for it wasn’t particularly comfortable. Our view looked into the staff area of the resort and the hotel was unable to move us to a room with another view. Unfortunately, just the same view a couple of levels up. While we did enjoy the beach and the warm atmosphere created by the staff, the hotel itself could benefit from some upgrades to really reach its potential. Based on our level of comfort we wouldn't return.

Best beach bartender EVER, Katier (I think that's how it's spelled) remembered our drink orders by the first night and always had our drinks ready by the time we walked up the entire week, always funny and... happy to see us, he made the best drinks on the resort and always made our day brighter. We would go back for the beach bar alone! SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN A RAISE. He gave us tequila shots on our last day and wished us well. Our room cleaner Roselinda was amazing too, always left our room spotless and made cute towel creatures, and always brought us extra water. The towel creatures (made out of nice clean towels) were delightful, very creative and well-crafted, and always made us chuckle. There is snorkeling at the beach (when weather is good and not too windy) for 20USD, and one of the guides named Uni really stood out, there were no snorkeling spots left for that day so he gave us a free 20 minute boat ride, and booked us for the following morning. He was so friendly and funny and made the whole experience so enriching and good. Food was good, easy to find vegetarian options. With her fresh waffles every morning and handmade donuts. Lots of plantain chippies. Milk, cereal, eggs, made-to-order pasta and you can have as much cheese as you like. Snack bar had fries! Do not recommend the Mexican a la carte, but the rice was good! Absolutely no nightlife when we were there (Feb 23 - March 2), so we went downtown Veradero if we wanted to have fun after 8pm. However! Resort was very clean and rooms were lovely, so wasn't a bad place to be. Always had hot water and good water pressure, shower may have been slightly haunted but there was great AC! Loved the hammocks and the swing chairs. The beach was perfect, no bugs, very clean and lots of beach chairs and umbrellas. Overall, very nice, and the staff really made the experience for us.

We have had a wonderful holiday and Liset is a star ???????? The room is beautifully clean and the service on the whole is excellent ???????? The beach is truly beautiful and sea is so clear All in all a ...wonderful holiday I recommend the hotel 100%

Great location, amazing staff and service. The food was a downfall and it was missing a lot of items every day. The late night snack menu/bar menu never had any items available. But that did not affect the... stay as everything else was brilliant. It was a very relaxing stay. I do recommend the place.
