Highly recommend in a perfect location!

This hotel is situated in a great location directly across from where we came in on the clipper ferry. The hotel is clean, nicely appointed and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 2 queen... bed harbor view suite with a balcony. The views from the balcony were stunning each night and we thoroughly enjoyed the little extra room this suite provided for our family of 4. Although the room decor is slightly dated, it was very clean with great amenities. It is in a great and perfect location in Victoria and easily walkable to all the main tourist areas. The parliament building is right next door! Would highly recommend this hotel.
Wonderful city and hotel. Just one hiccup

The night clerk is a judgemental kid. The hotel is excellent. Until one staff member that judges me by my looks. May 15 night shift. Watch the security videos of me exiting the room. realizing I lost m...y room key in garage. Getting stuck in the parking garage. All around 4 a.m. not cool. Tried calling the front desk 3x no answer. So ask your staff to be more kind. Just because I don't dress like a millionaire Doesn't mean I deserve less respect.
Good not Grand.

Great location with friendly and responsive staff, and the room was spacious and quiet despite facing what is a busy harbour. Also appreciated the second sink. However, I find the price of the hotel to be ...too much for what you get, and perhaps it is what the market allows, but I would stay at the Empress instead. Despite being in a renovated harbour view room, the room is showing signs of wear and tear that are not being addressed (see pics). The lamp shade should be replaced along with the mattress. I read complaints in other reviews about the stiffness of the beds, and I share that complaint. Did not sleep well and ordered a mattress topper, but was still not the best sleep. When paying as much as we did, one would at least expect a decent sleep. If the hotel “is committed to environmental stewardship in all aspects of the business”, why are the coffee amenities provided in individual plastic wrappers with powder creamer (liquid creamer in fridge) and sweetener that most people likely throw out? Consideration should be given to providing amenities in a more environmentally friendly way. On check-in, after confirming our Gold status with I-prefer we had to inquire about the welcome amenity. There was no recognition of our loyalty to the program. Perhaps it was an oversight, but I would train staff to: (a) recognize the loyalty as most other hotel brands do and (b) not require the guest to ask about the benefits, but rather proactively offer them.
Great location

This is a very nice hotel. Beds are comfortable, quiet environment, and great views. We were on the second floor and the view was amazing. The inner harbour location is also great and close to a lot of res...taurants, and buses are adequate in the area, which is great if you don’t drive or want to rent a car. We had brunch at the restaurant, which had a good menu. Pool was warm. Overall, a great experience.
Great location, very nice hotel

Though it is of course not luxurious, this hotel is wonderful. It’s very clean though some parts show obvious wear (for example, the carpet in our room could use updating or a thorough steam cleaning, and ...there was a bit of pink in the deep thick grooves in the caulking around the bathtub). The hotel staff are wonderful, very courteous and accommodating. In stark contract was the restaurant staff, whom we found a bit stand-offish (perhaps because we had children in our party?). The restaurant, Fathom, is quite nice, I highly recommend the happy hour 2-5pm. The swimming pool is large, but can and will get crowded and noisy (there are two lanes dedicated to laps, so don’t hesitate to go). The location is fantastic, the Parliament building and the BC Royal museum are within an easy 2-5 min walk. Highly recommend.
