What you'll do
As a member of the Technical Operations team, you will perform daily maintenance on our fleet of aircraft while making safety a top priority.

What we're looking for
Technical Operations role requirements
To be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Avionics Technician at WestJet, you must:
- Hold a Transport Canada license (AME – M2) (AVT – E License)
- Be flexible to work shift work, night shifts and overtime
- Be able to travel for base coverage and possible AOG trips
- Be able to obtain a driver’s airside license, AVOP, & airport-restricted area pass
- Complete and pass a criminal background check
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test
- Complete and pass a functional physical assessment
If successful, all new Technical Operations employees will be required to spend their first week at the WestJet Calgary campus for onboarding and training. Travel and accommodations will be provided.

- Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) premiums starting at 7 per cent (increasing by 1 per cent every 3 years to a maximum of 10 per cent)
- Tool, uniform and personal protective equipment allowance
- A 5,5,4 shift rotation
- Minimum two weeks of vacation with increase after four years of service, plus applicable statutory holidays
