What you'll do
As a member of the Technical Operations team, you will perform daily maintenance on our fleet of aircraft while making safety a top priority.

What we're looking for
Technical Operations role requirements
To be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Avionics Technician at WestJet, you must:
- Hold a Transport Canada license (AME – M2) (AVT – E License)
- Be flexible to work shift work, night shifts and overtime
- Be able to travel for base coverage and possible AOG trips
- Be able to obtain a driver’s airside license, AVOP, & airport-restricted area pass
- Complete and pass a criminal background check
- Complete and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test
- Complete and pass a functional physical assessment
If successful, all new Technical Operations employees will be required to spend their first week at the WestJet Calgary campus for onboarding and training. Travel and accommodations will be provided.

- Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) premiums starting at 7 per cent, increasing 1 per cent every 3 years to a maximum of 11 per cent
- Night shift premium of $1.50/hour, and fuel tank entry premium of $7.00/hour
- Overtime pay of 1.5 for the initial 8 hours of overtime and 1.75 for time beyond the initial 8 hours (within a pay period)
- Aircraft on ground (AOG) pay of 1.5 for duration of AOG trips (including non-working hours)
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) allowance, tool allowance and uniform allotment
- A 5,5,4 rotation schedule consisting of day, afternoons and night shifts (shift bidding based on seniority)
