Smallrise or Highrise?
ilyag_Toronto (Toronto) on May 27, 2025
Second trip to Aruba, after staying in RIU. Mixed emotions. Divi complex is huge multiple hotels some are beach facing, some are even across the road as Golf. Beauty of Tamarijn that it is directly on the ...beach, like you have your own. However, Divi beach is much better, so you need to trade convenience of local vs quality. You have waves unlike highrises water. Stayed in the building 25, it's much cleaner area of the hotel. Breakfast/Lunch local buffet. Dinner buffet in Divi was mediocre. Pain to make reservations to the specialty restaurants, twice wasn’t able to it at all. Balashi beer is fantastic. Tamarijn/Divi very tip oriented and you will not escape with the dollar.
My new favorite place in the world!

The service at this hotel is by far the best I have ever seen on vacation. Club Margot has food to die for and the best employees! Our hostess, Alex, is a beautiful energetic soul; our bartender, Gilbert, ...made me the best manhattan I’ve ever had and is a true craftsman; and our waiter, Z, was an absolute dream ?? the pizza bar was always a vibe as well! Chayenne gave me tons of travel tips, and Julio is such an entertainer! I completely fell in love with this place, and would return and stay here again just to see these wonderful people ?? my Aruba family!
Everything is great except the beach….

We were incredibly happy with everything about the Tamarijn except the beach. Probably not much they can do but there is a bunch of erosion, exposed sandbags and rocks. There really is no good beach fron...t at the resort - you have to go to the Divi or one of the other beaches nearby. In fairness, I think many of the resorts are experiencing issues with the beaches right now due to erosion. The staff is great, the food is great and the rooms are great but can be a little far away from everything.
Great resort and very affordable!

This was our first time to Aruba, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff is amazing very helpful and welcoming, the property was very clean. The restaurants were all good. The buffet at the Tam was what y...ou expect for a buffet. You cannot beat the views. The ocean was beautiful.
My third stay!

This was my third time staying at the Tamarijn over the last 5 years. I stay in Bldg. 18 or 19 in a premium ocean front room on the second floor. I recommend the second floor for privacy and a better view.... The bunker bar is right outside your room, so if having cocktail access is important, then it's a good spot. It closes at 7, so there's no noise in the evening. Our room was very clean and housekeeping will come every day if you don't tell them not to. Food is great and we went to 4 of their restaurants, Paparazzi being our favorite! We also did a couples pedicure and foot massage at their spa and it was top notch and worth every penny! I don't get the negative reviews on breakfast. There is a huge variety of things to choose from and my girlfriend got her eggs benedict every morning. Other reviews claiming the drinks are watered down are also false. If you like strong drinks, then just tell them, and they will oblige. The tap beer is always ice cold and there are 4 different beers to choose from. I highly recommend bringing a Yeti type tumbler. They will put your drinks and beer in whatever insulted cup you have. Your drinks stay nice and cold and they have less dishes to clean. Having access to all their resorts is a big plus as well. We went down to the Divi several times for a change of scenery or to see what entertainment they had. If your at the Divi the casino is right across the parking lot. The casino is ok, but nothing to write home about IMO. If your staying at the Divi walk the beach north to Eagle Beach and you will be amazed at how beautiful that beach is in person. The Tamarijn does have a lot of rocks in front of it, so if the beach is important to you, then stay at the Divi. We are already planning to go back next year without any hesitation. Finally, we found that 6-7 days at this destination is just right.
