We spent 10 nights here at Oleo as a family of 4 (2 teens 16 &19). We had 2 rooms both at the front of the hotel. The rooms were light, bright and very clean. However they were very noisy due to the traffic outside at nighttime. There seem to be lots of people racing cars and motorbikes at all hours which did impact sleep! The pools are quite small but adequate. Shade is hard to find even with parasols. Out of 10 nights there were only 3 days we could enter the sea by the hotel due to the hurricane taking away the sand and leaving exposed rocks. The pool area is cleaned every night and is spotless. The staff around the pool taking drink and food orders are lovely. We had most meals in the buffet restaurant and there is plenty to choose from. We visited the Mediterranean restaurant twice and the food was very tasty however on our second visit I had the lasagne and it was cold in the middle, staff took it away but the next lot was also cold in the middle which was a shame because the food was really delicious. We went to the Asian restaurant twice and the food there is exquisite. Attention to detail in the presentation was something else. My fussy son was able to take a pizza from the brown bag cafe in there to eat. The staff were lovely and very polite. My teens and husband made use of the Brown Bag cafe ordering coffees and frappes on a daily basis more than once a day. The girl in there knew the orders before they even spoke! We really enjoyed our stay but felt that it was more of a party hotel around the pool. We couldn’t fault the food or the staff who were all polite, kind and chatty. The entertainment was a bit of a let down as it was just different singers each night.

Abad made our whole trip, had so much fun chillin by the beach and pool, he introduced us to nice cocktails made from Don Julios cousin. Was a fun time!! We especially enjoyed the mescalitas and josephinas. Rooms at hotel are clean and check in was seamless!!!

Myself and my boyfriend recently stayed at Oleo Cancun Playa with some of our family for a 2 week holiday. We had such a lovely time and was so sad that we had to leave! The hotel is a good size for me, not too big and busy. The hotel is on the quieter part of the strip which I personally liked. We did go into the main part of the Cancun strip some nights which was fun, just quite busy. We couldn’t use the beach right outside of the hotel because of the rocks but you could walk further up the beach and go in the sea there. This isn’t their fault at all, it’s because of the recent hurricane, so this did not bother me at all. They were always doing up the hotel, painting etc and fixing things that were damaged. We really liked the food and the À La Carte restaurants were amazing! The food was so good that we ended up eating there most nights. The room service was really good, we made sure to make good use of that. The BrownBag Cafe had options of cakes, sandwiches, rolls, wraps and lattes, frappes, iced drinks etc which were all very nice. We met some amazing staff while we were there. To name a few: Antonio & Alejandro (Entertainers) - These two are so lovely and funny. They always remember your names and make sure to get you involved in the entertainment. We had many laughs with these two and it was really sad when we had to say goodbye. Enrique (Bar) - Enrique is such a good bartender. He was so friendly to us and would always remember us and our drink orders. He makes lots of drinks you would never of heard of before but taste delicious! Angel (Bar) - Angel would always made sure you had drinks around the pool. He would just turn up with the drinks he knew we liked which we found funny. He is very attentive and a hard worker. William (Waiter) - William is so friendly and kind. We had some good conversations with him and is just such a lovely guy. He always makes sure you have drinks when you are in the restaurants. Sergio & Crispin (Waiters) - These two were so friendly and funny in Hakka. They always made sure we had our drinks topped up and could always have a laugh with them. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and I would go back. Thank you.

The best part about staying at Oleo were David & Gabriel at the dinner buffet service, the bartender Enrique at the pool, and Gerardo at the indoor bar with Live music. Take care of them, and they take EXCELLENT care of you with a smile, laughs, and a good time. Get the ocean view. It's worth it. We were greeted with champagne upon arrival AND there was a bottle and some sweet treats awaiting us in our suite.The food at the buffet option was impressive and Mexican night was EXCELLENT with Live Mariachi and mole that was SPOT ON. The Live music entertainment at the bar was a hit or miss, but a nice touch anyway. The pool scene was good, but the bar service closes at 7 PM and the pool closes at 8 PM, which really sucked. The facilities and property in general are well maintained, but we did see some closed areas in repair and the beach completely washed away. That was the most disappointing aspect of the property. We were REALLY looking forward to being ON the beach. Instead, we made the best of it and did excursions. Because the buffet offered good options, we did not go to all of the other eateries, except for ALMAR. We were not at all impressed with the entrees. The biggest letdown was the pressure to attend a presentation in order to get presumably discounted rates for excursions. Overall, I would recommend this place. Keep in mind that it is not near the party scene which is nearest to Coco Bongo (Map it), but public transportation gets you there easily.

I arrived at the hotel on Saturday 20th July and left on Friday 2nd August. This was first time to Cancun and had an amazing time and I don't usually first the same country twice but I will be returning back to Cancun and staying at the same hotel I'm glad that the hotel is not big compared to other hotels. The size is correct because everyone becomes a family. The bar staff Enquire, Antonio and Alejardo were brilliant always laughing and looking afternoon. Antonio and Aljerado (dimples) great entainers and make sure everyone is involved in games etc. The Aidya, Diego, Alberto, Tamara, Julia please keep up the good work on reception always friendly, polite and will go beyond to help you with anything. Also the bar staff who serve food and making sure everyone is happy Adbad, Carlos and Ruben All staff at the hotel are fantastic and specially my house keeper Roslina. Thank all and see you next year.
