Great location, beautiful beach, nice pool and good food. Rooms are OK: ~ Beds really comfortable ~ Could be updated (fresh paint, and small spots of mould in shower) ~ Unfortunately the air con i...s not great. We were unable to get the temperature down from 27C the last 2 days, we reported it but it was not fixed. In general the air con in the lobby & restaurants is poor. Overall really enjoyed our stay. What made it was the day time by the pool entertainment from Antonio aka chocolate ??

The best holiday ever! The best staff member was Enrique from the lobby bar! Always had a big smile. The food is amazing and the hotel was superb. Definitely come back again! 5****************************...*****************************

WE WILL BE BACK. The hotel was SUPER CLEAN! We were treated like Queens! Me and my girlfriend came for 4 days for her birthday and had a blast! Enrique made the hell outta our drinks ! Everybody was great!... They greeetes us with champagne once we arrived. The food was good! The pool stayed clean! The guys with the activities by the pool were great! Overall 10/10 ! Thanks guys !

7 night stay May 2025 We would not return to Olea Csncun Playa. The stock photos are deceiving. Starting with arrival, reception area small, very hot with no A/C and the staff not very welcoming. Though ...only one other couple there ahead of us it still took 15 minutes just to check-in. The room was roomy and nice. Bathroom had mold in shower snd toilet & sink drain extremely slow. Food was ok but not a lot of choices. One restaurant (buffet) open for breakfast with same food daily. It is also open for lunch & dinner with dinner food theme varying each night. Other 2 restaurants only serve dinner. Pool side diner only serves lunch outside. All restaurants are very small and very warm/hot inside restaurants. Two small pools that are not completely filled. Water was about 10” from top of pool. Many safety issues from no handrails on steps going down to pool, a lot of uneven walk areas, steps going down to beach need Work, handrail wobbly and uneven steps. No easy entry to the 2 small pools that are joined in the middle. One ladder for each pool. One ladder had no treads left on steps, just bare slippery metal. The other pool’s ladder thad the treads on the top two stairs, none on the bottom step. Entertainment team equals 2 guys that switch days. They brought out big speakers and played and offered 3 activities each day…a guessing game ie how many pages in this book or how many moons does Saturn have etc, a short water aerobics class each day ad 2nd activity, and then 3 activity was guess the artist & song after they place a sound bite, or on other days it may be another short game. Really lacking in the fun category or even music choices. Nightly entertainment was a saxophone player one night, a Latin singer another night, and karaoke another night. Can’t recall other nights as was totally unimpressed with all of it. Most of staff were not really hospitable. They did their job but avoided eye contact with you and rarely saw a smile. Bartenders smiled, entertainment guys smiled. The ocean looked amazing. Beautiful and that was the best part. Check out was the same as check in…SLOW. One couple being waited on when we got ready to check out. One staff assisting them, all other staff talking and when I went up to one and said we were ready to check out we were told we had to wait for the one staff that was handling the other couple. Resort, not really. Seemed more like a cheaper hotel. They have a lot of work to do to bring this up to a real resort experience. We go to Cancun every year and have stayed in nice resorts with great experiences. Not one and it was about the same price.

Great food and great and friendly staff. We had the pad Thai which was lovely. Crispin was very good and very attentive, filling up our drinks at all times. The service was very quick Thank you to chef ote...lia olan and chef esteban for the lovely food
